well the good thing is, if the dwarf keeps this up there is still enough time to do so. Lets assume the NHL will say "this is not good enough you need to give we can't survive all their BS" why counter with something like:,, Ok you don't like a fair deal how about 75/25 you want to cap the lengh of contracts fine do it at 25 years" it would be hilarious to see the reaction of the NHL to such an offer *gg*

Bettman just stfu you stupid little undersized dwarf. The NHLPA presented a fair offer you on the other hand insulted them with an outrageaus one. If we lose another season because of you, I hope the owners will get as sick of you as all the fans, players and media already are. Worst commissioner by far. So a fair offer presented by Fehr oh the irony is still not good enough for you? Guess what the players aren't dumb they wont roll over so you can have your failed franchises and stupid parity going on forever. I am sure Mr. I is sick of you too. sorry for the rant but this little guy is driving me nuts. Think the players shouldn't earn what they do? How about having your head down and run into a check from Big John Scott or Steve MacIntyre? Maybe then you'll understand how physical demanding th is sport is. That guy really successfully defines every sterotype of a dwarf, he is the epidome...

Are the players holding a gun on the owners saying "100 million contract or you are toast?" nope, the owners are flying with their not so cheap jets, helicopters and luxury cars to the players mansion presenting them with such contracts. Players would be stupid not to sign them you can be damn sure I would. Nobody is forcing the smaller markets to spend to the cap, if they even cant survive with revenue sharing fold them, simple as that having a record breaking league with fewer teams will be more beneficial longterm. Why do teams like Montreal, Toronto and Detroit have to pay for the dwarfs failures? Doesn't make sense to me oh and please some of the smaller markets can hand out 100 million $ + contracts so they aren't as poor as you might think. Another lockout this time will be blamed on the owners thats for sure and I highly doubt the NHL would recover from that. 3 lockouts are unacceptable dwarf needs to be canned even the players are making fun of him now. <3 Prust's statement :-)

Canadiens sign Pacioretty to six-year extension.

Good for Maxpac fine player and a very managable salary. -
My stance: - revenue is increasing - players are risking their health and sacrifice a lot for the game we all love - dwarf doesn't do any of that so So things I'd consider fair: - eliminate the hard cap - lower the salary floor - UFA = 6 years - RFA = 5 years - ELC = 3 years - get rid off revenue sharing, if some teams can't compete with revenue sharing what is the whole point of it? Might as well get rid off it and just let every owner decide if they want to spend or not but don't cry foul if you won't get the top UFAs for playing it cheap. Owning an NHL team is a big privilegue, so either be in it to win it or go out. - fire the dwarf probably the most important point of the whole CBA consideration - fix the draft (no more 3 first overall in a row) - keep the revenue split like it is 57/43 sounds good to me - remove NMC/NTC minimum age

1.2009 vs Pittsburgh the dwarfs cocksuckers won just a damn shame 2. 2007 vs Anaheim ***** the cartoon franchise 3.1996 vs Colorado best regular season and then you lose to a hated rival, just a kick in the gut 4.1999 vs Colorado blew our chance to make history 5.2012 vs Nashville the team should be ashamed of that performance, this was the last game of our captain and despite Zetterberg and maybe White they've shown an overall crappy effort.

Lets be realistic here, I am sure it would be a great experience but don't expect to see a lot so not worth the enormous pricetag.
-
If it involes any of Nyquist, Filps + a pic I'd gladly pass. Nothing against Bouwmeester really, but at some point we need to built up our next generation of Wings. We would be doing the Flames a favour by taking on such a big contract.

Holland losing his moxie? Is Detroit slipping as UFA destination?
frankgrimes replied to RedWingsRox's topic in General
We lost a top 3 alltime defenseman so everyone on the team will have a tougher time. Kronner, White and Quincey need to step it up bigtime that is for sure. It will also be a huge year for Howard, if he wants a big payday next summer he better performs well and I hope The Monster will challenge him for the first spot. -
I am not a fan of either side, I am a fan of the Detroit Red Wings. Having said that: 2005: - owners got everything they wanted - dwarf and the NHL celebrated like they've won - they did design the deal 2012: Now their own deal isn't good enough anymore? Seeks greed Owners are the ones flying with around with their jets, copters or whatever to hand out 100 $ + contracts and now they are blaming the players for taking it? *rotfl* You don't start negotiations in sour fate i.E. lowballing or insulting the other side Dwarf needs to push for more revenue sharing to save face, otherwhise it would be even more obvious that his sunbelt expansion felt, despite maybe Tampa and San Jose The NHLPA has a lot of smart guys Bergeron, Parros (Princeton degree) and Doan oh and of course Donald Fehr they are not going to roll over this time, why should they? Players already stated their displeasure with the way the NHL is handeling this. After everything to me it seems clear who to blame this time, last time I was more in favour with the owners but this time, its the NHLPA by a landslide. I think the owners are risking a huge gamble here just because the NHL came back stronger than ever doesn't mean it will again this time, because even to diehards it is so obvious whom to blame. You can't pose with record-numbers for years and then screaming "no you need to give us everything again, because we aren't making (enough) money".
-
I fully agree with this I am sure some of the more respected owners such as our own Mr. I aren't happy with the way, this is going. Minime needs to be fired and if teams can't survive with revenue-sharing well either spend less, relocate or fold em. A league with 20 profitable teams is berr than one with 30, were at least 10 are losing money. Minime and his *****.... are seeing $ in their eyes again they think playing hardball with the players/fans will again get them, what they want. Glad Fehr has the job he will play hardball too, for months we have heard how the NHL is breaking record after record and now players should give in again? This is ludachrist and in my mind Buttman should be help accountable. I think I will watch SEL, AHL and maybe some other "lesser" leagues if there is another lockout, no way I'll stop watching hockey. Hope the fans will side with the players and not come back if there is indeed another lockout, so the NHL won't pull this s*** again in 5 years, sorry for swearing but it is frustrating as a fan.
-
If there is another lockout, things that need to happen: 1. fire Minime - owners of O 6 teams and other big markets will get impatient with this ***** you can't have three lockouts and keep your job. 2. hire a guy with a hockeybackground or at least some negotiation skills 3. stop the sunbelt experiment it failed

Hurricanes re-sign Jeff Skinner to 6-year extension.
frankgrimes replied to cusimano_brothers's topic in General
Exactly owners are throwing around money like nothing and then they complain about it being too much? Hypochrists at best. -
Hardly Fehr was part of the strongest MLB players union ever, this Minime clown is part of 3 lockouts now if things are going his way. He is an absolute joke and should be booed loud and hard.
-
Someone needs to lock that Minime out. It would be the third lockout under him, no way Fehr and the NHLPA will dance like he wants them to do. The owners got exactly what they wanted and now they will lockout their players for getting what they wanted? Talk about a big FU to the fans, Bettman you are the biggest disgrace this sport has ever seen resign already!

Ott just got traded for a second line center so no way, he is getting traded again. Dallas ripped Buffalo a new one here.

Golden rule: don't feed the trolls (quote, reply, pm....) and they're gone as quick as possible. Anyhow just wanted to mention something: Ray Shero (Penguins GM) what has he done this offseason? despite the Staaltrade nothing Chiarelli (Bruins GM) less than both Poile (Predators GM) resigned his starplayer other than that? Lombardi (stanleycup winning team GM) brought back the whole team again So the top 5 GMs haven't done any ridiculous overspending on non-eliteplayers, did all these teams lose their motio or maybe just maybe, spending for the sake of spending with an uncertain CBA is not the best way to handle a franchise longterm? -
Why would the Flames trade this guy? With Weber, Karlsson and Suter locked up for quite some time, Bouwmeesters value is as high as it has ever been and it is not like he's a liability. The guy can give you top minutes and paired with another top 2 defender I think he could beo ustanding once again. You don't move such players safe for ridiculous overpayment. WE're talking Nyquist+Filpula+ 1/2 2013 here.
-
Shane just sign somewhere or resign this sopopera is getting old.
-
I completely understand that point, but tell me this: Would have signing him made us a cup contendera again? The offense does need some tweaks agreed, but our main problem is still the defense. Maybe Wings are still in on Doan and that is why the have passed on him? I fully know and can understand the negativity to a certain point, but my point of view is a rather simple: overpaying for elite or close to elite yes but not for questionable players.
-
The panicking and oh no the sky is falling mentality is getting annoying and to be honest with you, it isn't even new anymore. It was fun the first time but right now it is just annoying. Yes, we will be very lucky making into the playoffs but so what? I am fine with seeing the young guns playing and learning instead of overpaying for guys, that won't make the difference between us and the cup. Is it really so hard to understand?
-
Love that, the guy did nothing wrong and focusing on family, friends and freedom away from hockey is never a bad thing. He is a great goaltender and deserves some respect. Could easily see him becoming a goaltender coach in Boston.
-
Well you know at the time, most thought we might get Suter and Parise. Though I knew fully well, finding help outside of these two would be an incredible tough job. 7 million for Semin? wow

Very very good read, enjoyed it, just some things to add drafting is always a big gamble, especially when you are drafting as high as the Wings do. You are pretty much going for high risk/high reward type of picks if 5 of them turn out good + you have done an oustanding job, sadly that is not the reality. True, Holland needs to prove again why he is the freaking best GM in the game, but what can you do when absolutely no one is outthere? Do you honestly believe the Coyotes would send Yandle to a conference rival? I highly doubt that. Holland should have been prepared better for that scenario yes, but you can't blame our internal lack of nhl caliber defensemen save for Smith, we should have tradered for one. One the other hand which team is going to give up top 2 defensemen easily? It is a tough situation for sure, but I am very confident that Holland, Nil und Develano will prove again who the best management in the league is. Maybe not this but certainly next year. -
All the best things are 5 that leaves 4 more offersheet possiblities for Holmer
