I'm willing to give Blashill more time he didn't have a lot to work with. Yes, he handled Mantha very poorly and disrespectful and hopefully learns from that but I want to see what he can do with a good roster.

No he shouldn't. Larkin should enjoy time of from the game and then have an NHL summer in the gym, he doesn't need to play in useless tournaments like the WC, WC of hockey or AHL playoffs -

Wouldn't even be close to it Snow wants a guy of equal value back. So you can bet they are going to ask for Mantha or Larkin -

Sorry but hell no! Z isn't capable of being a number 1 center anymore heck he isn't even good enough to be a top 6 center. Stop ruining what little gas this guy has left in his tank. Also no to Jurco and Pulkinnen trade them for whatever you can get back, I wish them the best on another team. -
When did I say that? I think of them in a realistic way. Just as I did with Tatar and Goose it's not my nor their fault that some people thought they were going to be the next Euro twins, or 30+ goal scorers. Larkin and Mantha are the only 2 young guys I'm really high on and I believe they should work out very well in the future. That doesn't mean I'm expecting them to become superstars or anything crazy like that just 2 solid pieces to start a rebuild around, on the backend it's of course Danny D. other than those 3 everyone has to be available for the right deal. The Wings are an Original 6 team, with a rich history and a ton of great players of course but Stamkos and Meehan (his agent) aren't stupid, they'll do their homework and look at the future. And this means he will look at what team has the chance to win a cup in the next few years or if none of them are having the capspace the next best thing will be family reasons and sadly the edge here goes to Toronto. Although If I were him I would sign there and deal with the over the top spotlight. I'm more than sure Meehan will listen to the Wings offer and push it to Stamkos but there will be a ton of other teams doing the same. Toronto will push their come home and IF you win a cup you are a god here...BS and mentioning by one word what happens, if he doesn't or has a scoring slump. But I'm sure Stammer is intelligent enough to ask Phaneuf and Kessel what it means to play there and being blamed and constantly bothered by stupid reporters. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if some team no one expected comes out of the shadows and gets this guy. But even if the Wings get him he can't stop there the defense needs to be fixed too and I highly doubt that can be done in 1 off-season maybe I'm completely wrong and the Wings get Stamkos, Backes and/or Trouba but honestly I'd rather not dream about what if and keep it realistic.
-
They are both so identical it doesn't make much difference to me. But the thiing people have to keep in mind they'll still need to be a package deal with something bigger if the Wings expect to get some serious value (top 4 defender) back. Backes wants one thing and that's a cup so he isn't signing here and why would the biggest UFA target (Stamkos) sign with the Wings? His team eleminated the Wings 2 times in a row, Pasha is going to leave, there is no Hedman on this team and also no Bishop. If Stamkos is really that interested in a rebuild he will join Babcock and company in Toronto and play closer to home infront of his friends and family. Fixing this mess has to start by acknowledging the retool on the fly has failed and go for a real rebuild (although 4 years too late...). Personally i think Mike Hofmann from Ottawa would be a nice signing, he isn't going to sign an extension with them and may want out, he fits the agegroup and will be an UFA in 1 year. Obviously Trouba would be a very nice piece but I doubt the Wings have the pieces to get him. As great as Looch, Backes, Okposo or Stammer would be I just don't see it happening.

Well he should have stopped the gwg, period. Did he play well? Yes he did but so did Howard a lot of times and people still blamed him for giving up the gwg. So fair is fair. But you are right it doesn't even matter in the bigger context of the game because you can't win if you can't score a goal. Wings could have played for hours and wouldn't have been able to put one past Bishop .Real classy gesture how he talked to Pasha, the amount of respect players around the league have for this guy is unreal and so well deserved. -
I don't hate Blashill why should I ? He doesn't have a lot to work with and that's the responsibility of someone else. But it's of course nice to see how the Anti Babcock crowd now has seen first hand that you can't replace the best coach in all of hockey and expect a flawless transition. AHL success is great and everything but the NHL is a different beast. Not calling up Mantha and giving him a chance to play with Pasha is pissing me of in tremendous fashion, there was nothing to lose for crying out loud the PP flat out sucked! I don't care about a correlation it didn't work!

sure ignore the play that cost the Wings the series in Pasha's last game. If that happened with Howard in net he would have been verbally crucified by some here. Mrazek needs to stop flying around and become a more positional sound goalie. If he does that he could become a solid starter if not, he'll bounce around backup and starter duties. What can you say lots of break always but no finish, a PP to forget and a defense which has Danny D. as the only solid defensive player. I don't care about the lame excuses of who deserved what, there are 2 facts: 1. Tampa played without Stralman and Stamkos 2. Tampa was a 1 line team and still finished the Wings in 5, imagine how this would have ended if they were healthy. Pasha's face reminded me on Lids after the Wings bow out to the Press -

5 years 4 first round exits, 3 first round exits in a row and making the playoffs because another re sucked even more. Like I've mentioned I hope the 2 more home games were worth it. Such a disappointing season and I really hope the evaluation is starting next week. Front office needs some fresh ideas (new faces). I'm not going into dream land and thinking about Stamkos so starting next year: - no top 6 center - Z can't do it anymore and Pasha is gone - no number 1 defenseman - still need a sniper Don't give me that "if Larkin, AA and others will.." crap asking a 19 old to play top 6 center is asking for disaster build him up slowly. Goaltending has been average with some excellent games from both guys and tons to forget. Lots of holes to fill and I have zero confidence that Holland can do it. He doesn't want to commit to rebuild nor does he go all in...Mr. I needs to ask him some tough questions and if he doesn't like the answers get someone else. The people who thought keeping the streak alive so the young guns would gain experience, only need to look at the TOI for AA or even better Mantha. Well hope people enjoyed it because it was the last time for some time and add of course aside from Mantha the AHL cupboard is empty. If the Wings would have rebuilt starting 2012 they would have been in a much better position going forward but of course the streak was more important and patchwork fixes, waiting for some guys to become maybe better than they really are and other things were more important.... Personally this was the most boring season (NHL and Wingswise) ever this team lacks identity and a direction going forward. This off season needs to be the busiest one in terms of trades, signings and changes since almost 2 decades for this team. -

one of the most skilled and fun to watch players to ever play the game. Thanks for 14 marvellous years Pasha may you dangle around your KHL colleagues next year. Too bad you didn't get the chance to win another cup here would have only been fitting for such a great career. See you again for your hall of fame induction. You'll be missed one of a kind, such a classy classy guy. #13 -

Would have been nice if Mantha got the call up but somehow this organization isn't doing him any favors. Last chance to play with Pasha and no callup f*** that. I'm honestly at the point where I do care who gets fired and held responsible just have a realistic plan and vision for the future if it ends tonight so be it. -

I think the best option would be a different league alltogether. With all things in life the league has become too big for it's own good and is run by people that shouldn't be allowed to run a hockeyleague, because they have no atheltic skills, no passion and no desire for protecting the history or integrity of the game. Also don't give me that family friendly BS because every hockey family knows what's said on the ice stays on the ice, period and Im sure every kid, parent or whoever is using a lot of so called foul language all the time. If people are offended by it so what. look at soccer and some of the stupid stuff that's going on there it's unreal, suits instead of real fans, supporter sections pressured to sign guidlines!! and NHL like prices for a way supbar product. Oh and of course audiences that are more focused on texting on their iphones than watching the game. Since I can't stand the sport that's the last story a good friend of mine told me about his last visit of an so called "internationally important game" from his club don't even know the name. -

This league has become a freaking joke, no wonder people are losing interest in what used to be a real mans game. Next bring out the pink hockeysticks and the don't touch me signs on a players jersey. Soon our game will turn into soccer on ice for the same questionable audience. -
It's a shame most people expect them to lose tomorrow anyways, give the young kids a chance. Very disappointed with their decision wouldn't surprise me one bit if Mantha at some point pulls a Drouin.
