And your NHL All-Star Division Captains are....
frankgrimes replied to DrRoCkSo_46's topic in General
Same here I think the rule is unbelievable stupid to begin with but Pasha and Lidström had to sit out too so well.. I'm sure OV and Toews are happy to have some rest and they'll take the stupid 1 game suspension, if anything it's only hurting the NHL ratings *lol* But WTF makes James Neal an allstar? Yeah the guy is a Predator and the game is in Nashville but other than that? lol -
Edmonton may be small but their fan base is huge and very loyal. They aren't like Ottawa Winnipeg seems to have some trouble selling tickets and getting season ticket holders to commit to another 5 year plan not surprised by that at all. 10 grand plus is a huge commitment over a 5 year span they need to lower their prices.

Yzerman Reportedly Playing in Alumni Game Against Colorado
frankgrimes replied to vladdy16's topic in General
That's my captain! man I wish I could relife the good old days of that rivalry ...best one in sports and it isn't even close -
learn how to celebrate with class kid hate over the top celebrations Goalie mistake

Even our own Probert had some losses, no fighter will win everytime but they have a respect for each other. Maggio got a very good one in and won, kudos to him but there will be a rematch und a pissed of Grats is even more scary than the normal one. But I for sure don't want to see Maggio laying on the ice like that.
-
I'm not surprised at all by that. We are talking about very well trained athletes going on the ice with insane speed, acceleration wearing absolute massive shoulder pads. As we've seen the right punch can knock even the toughest of the toughest out, but t he wrong hit with an ellbow or shoulder pad can be even worse. I hardly believe there is any need to discuss the pros and cons of fighting. Some like it some don't and I couldn't care less what some BR or THN reporter believes. Fact is this, Grats and all others are well aware of the danger, they love their job and in my mind deserve all the credit appreciation in the world.
-
it's part of the game and always will be, whether people like it or not. Grats knows the risks and so does every other tough guy. Just be happy that he is okay and already cracking jokes about it
-
Atta boy Grats taking it like a man, there will be a rematch between the 2 :-)
-
article started well but went down the same anti fighting route like most others. Things like the Parros, McGrattan incidents are thankfully not the norm and the exception. You can bet there will be a rematch and Maggio better be ready for it What's funny to me how much idiots are thinking anybody cares about their the NHL, NFL are too violent stance they aren't violate both sports are for real men. But man 245 fights is insane
-
Maggio landed an absolute right bomb but the thing that knocked him out for good was the same thing that happened to Parros - face first onto the ice But for sure Maggio won that fight dude would look good in red and white

I'd do that in a heartbeat, a great guy making league minimum would get a car, some money and have a great experience. -
injured Kronwall out 2-4 Weeks after Knee Scope
frankgrimes replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
This flatout sucks, he hasn't played as well as I've hoped this year but Kronner is still the veteran calming the defense down when things are going crazy.. The weakest link of this team just got worse not good at all. -
Stylewise: Boston LA Kings St. Louis Blues Winnipeg Jets Would like them do well: Tampa Buffalo Columbus Rivalries: Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia nothing comes even close

Well the good thing here is Domi and/or OEL can gain huge reputations points if they decide not to go because they don't want to take the rightful place of JS. An even better thing would be OEL asking for a trade of course -
Good find thank you very much I've stopped using that site since the re design because navigation isn't to my liking and I can't find anything it's a good list but Laviolette over McLellan is something I don't agree with. I'd really love to see what Tippet could do with a non internal budget team. Q's extension kicks after his 2 remaining years so he will be in Chicago for at least 5 more years. Hawks didn't a better job of keeping the contract details secure instead of leaking it to the media like Toronto did.

Trotz and Tippet are probably the most underrated coaches in the league

Same we should all donate some money for a Scott to the leagues office flight and ask them to say it to his face. Those damn suits would piss in their pants -

Bob McKenzie just confirmed on TSN Insider trading that the NHL asked Scott to decline to participate in the ASG and he refused to do so...now that trade. 1 + 1 = 2 f*** THE NHL -

And Montreal voting ALL Habs player in a few years ago wasn't? Look everyone can have his opinion I don't care but the fact ofa the matter is this: ASG is seen as a joke, players don't want to go (bet Crosby is happy!) but the NHL created this voting contest in order to get more clicks (the currency of the 21 century) and the fans decided, period. Was ist trolling or making a joke of a joke-game sure? But hey fans played by the rules and the league has to accept that. And guess what I'm willing to bet my house that Scott has a lot more hockey talent than 90 % of the people who can't get their asses out of their comfy chaires. He won the voting and he deserves it, period. btw. something like hardest punch, exceptional endurance during a scum would be some nice additions...hardest punch would be a toss up between Orr and McGrattan, endurance McGrattan and MacIntyre for sure. -

He does deserve to be there because the fans voted him in, period. Wish the fans could vote for the front-office too that way it wouldn't be run by morons which never laced skates up. -

If I were a billionare I'd buy Scott a first class ticket to that joke of an NHL front office and ask one of the damn suits to tell him to his face that he now won't go to the ASG - those idiots wouldn't like the outcome. I mean when was the last time people actually talked and wanted to watch the ASG ? -

frankgrimes replied to DrRoCkSo_46's topic in General
It's real simple: ASG is a voting contest - fans voted Scott in - therefore he goes the NHL can stfu he deserves to go period. -
The Magic Man can still do it but it will depend on his health and willingness to sign another extension. But man 1.000 points would be such an accomplishment

GDT 1/11 GDT - Red Wings at Kings - 10:30 PM EST
frankgrimes replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in General
apparently if you sign a 4 mill plus contract you aren't allowed to slump or go through a bad stretch. it's not like guys like Crosby , Stammer or Toews - the 3 best players in the world - would ever go through something like this. -
Seems like I was almost right about Nyquist (needs 17 goals in 39 games that's doable for him). Right about Tatar with 28 and Abby needs 8 goals in 39 games to make it. If Pasha can finally be healthy and become the magic man again, I think he could! still reach over 20 that's a big if and I sadly have to say I don't see it happening.
