And your NHL All-Star Division Captains are....
frankgrimes replied to DrRoCkSo_46's topic in General
John Scott for ASG MVP :-) -
WJC > NHL and it's not even close this year. Passion, national pride, great feisty games and a lot of back and forth. Finland - Sweden should be another game for the ages. Take a backseat dumbed down NHL

Frankly I don't care WHO is starting but so far neither Mrazek nor Howard are worth of any hype. They both have had solid to great games and then not so good ones. Unless someone is emerging as the true number 1 there really is no point in arguing over semantics. Wheter people want to admit it or not but Mrazek needs to work on his consistency because a number 1 goaltender is expected to start around 70 games a season and if you aren't consistent doing that, you'll find yourself in a backup role. If people want to give Mrazek 4 games and then Howard 4 games that's also fine but making an inconsistent goalie the number 1 is not going to help matters. The definition of an average team is winning a bunch of games followed by losing a bunch of games that's exactly what this team is and my mind the goaltending is not problem number 1. That still is the defense and the absolutely unwillingness to box players out of the crease.

not as much as I would have liked but the overall product has been pretty boring so I'm not missing much.that being said I'm fine with the split neither goalie ran away with it and till someone does there is no reason to change it. Yeah Howard wasn't good tonight but neither was Mrazek against the Wild. With all the hype he is receiving one could believe he is the second Hasek. I mean naming him in the same sentence as Quick, Rinne seriously ?
-
Nope the career of Price is far from over nobody knows what he will accomplish in the future but there is no denying that he is the best goalie in the world right now.Mrazek in the same sentence as Quick, Rinne who are both elite lol The kid lacks experience and consistency in his game
-
yeah because Mrazek played so outstanding guy has a lot of miles to go before deserving the term elite
-
oh thought he would be the son for sure.KrSmith I think most will of course three are exceptions. But if a team can get a solid NHL player it of some later round picks that's still impressive. wish wings had such luck with defenders too
-
well that's basically what most prospects with the exception of Mantha and Larkin might turn into.there is nothing wrong with being a 3 line center he will still make millions of dollars and hopefully can be a net front presence like his dad was.

Evander Kane Under Sex Investigation, Not Charged
frankgrimes replied to Bill Berzeench's topic in General
Do a research about the guy and you know why it all adds up. -
MAV has been their best player this season so he is far from being the problem. The Penguins problem is a.) defense and b.) a coach who didn' t know how to use the best player in the world. Sullivan is Tortarella's Skywalker so I'm not surprised he hasn't been able to get them going.

Thank you, such a disgusting image. -
Hockey is a tough and fast game at least it used to be if players can't keep their head up they'll get hammered. Stevens was a master at that guess he'd be suspended for every hit right now. Muzzin did his job, Gordon did fall and therefore a clean hit looks way worse than it was.

guy is just a thug and on the verge of throwing his career down the toilet can't believe Winnipeg got a first Meyers and Stafford for him and Bogosian. I remember his pic with tons of money in his hand showing off during the lockout.. Only topped by Roy bragging about his new Ferrari. -
Love this tournament, it has everything the NHL lacks: all-star-teams, intensity, blood rivalries and of course a bunch of young kids who just love the game. Can't wait for USA vs Canada to start should be a good one and for many of us a first look at the upcoming number 1 pick in the draft.

If the rumors are true and Trouba wants a long term commitment I'd rather pay him that, if the Jets play it cheap.I'm sure a desperate team will give Big Buff whatever he wants and then begging others teams to take him of their hands in the not so distant future.
-
Not that Nashville would ever do it but a Weber - Malkin trade would make too much sense for both clubs. Weber - Letang would be a deadly pairing.
-
First off welcome to LGW Jim! Man so many all-time-greats deserving to have the arena named after them. The obvious would be the Mike Illitch Plaza The Gordie Howe arena, Yzerman shrine, Lidstrom gardens. I just hope they aren't screwing this up but naming it something like (sponsor) Arena.
-
Team needs to learn how to shut it down and play defense first with the minutes ticking down. And as always size and grit
-
that would get it done I guess but Columbus is not helping matters by running him out of town
-
it will start with Tatar or Goose ++
-
Aside from Larkin, Mantha pick your pick Columbus. Personally I think it is disgusting how they've handled it..I like Davidson but he made a mistake by taking the negotiation personally and now they are trying everything to piss this guy of. I mean 22 points in 30 game is far from being worth a healthy scratch.Tortarella seems to bring scorched earth with him wherever he ends up. I Am a big fan of Saad but he hasn't been lights out either and yet no discipline Tortarella style... Man if I were him I'd be calling Newport Sports to get me out of there ... almost every team could use Johansen and the Jackets will spend the next decade searching for a center to replace him. I mean at what point is Kekalinen going to fix their defense ?
-
I think this is a good claim by Minnesotta guy brings the experience of a stanley cup winner and can still win you faceoffs so what's not to like.
-
I think the Pens won this trade, Pittsburgh needed to improve their defense and they did so. Chicago is stacked ! at the forward position. For whatever reason Daley wasn't a good fit there should have kept Oduya. But I think it's very wierd that Pittsburgh is also retaining some salary here they are very close to the cap already..

http://www.tsn.ca/penguins-lw-dupuis-career-over-due-to-blood-clots-1.406107 As stupid as it may sound I think it's a sad and smart decision at the same time because he is putting his family and longterm health over his hockey career and by all accounts Dupuis had a very solid one and even won a cup. So hopefully he can now enjoy his post career without health problems and maybe stay involved in some form.
