True statement. There is a certain decorum that goes along with wearing that C on your jersey. You either lead with your words, your actions, or both. I've been fortunate enough to see some of the truly great captains.....Gretzky, Yzerman, Lemieux, Messier, Sakic, etc......all of them used very different tactics, Messier...fire and brimstone, Gretzky....an unrelenting pursuit of perfection and accepting nothing less from his teammates....and the quiet resolve and class of Yzerman......their play on the ice made them great, their class on AND off made them legends. Crosby needs to take a history lesson.

This is gonna sound simple and like a slam at you....which its totally not, but with expectations as high as the Wings have set.....sometimes apathy sets in. Not saying its right, but it is indeed true. We are spoiled here, no doubt.....that comes from a long history of success. A comparison if you will. Wayne Gretzky during his prime could have a season where he scored 42 goals and added 60 assists.....a career season for 80% of the players in the league, but to him.....its viewed as a letdown, why? Because he has set the bar so high. Some teams are content to make the playoffs, others view anything less than the Cup a complete failure. The Preds may very well win Cups in the near future, and when they do.....the expectations of themselves, and their fans will change.......right or wrong, its human nature.

Mildly amusing. Asham will probably get 2. The player I'm interested in seeing is Neal.....wanting to see how they handle a 40 goal scorer. In my opinion, Neals act was the worst of them all.....leaving his feet plus a blow to the head.....then for an encore, he runs Giroux and nearly pulled off another head shot.

Frasers "insight"? I think anyone watching that game saw what precipitated the fight....hell, I posted it about a page back. Sid was in the middle of almost every scrum in that game.....or he was fanning the flames.

Another observation. Is it just me, or does Scott Hartnell look like the illegitimate love child of Kenny G and Jeremy Roenick?

True....but I also don't believe Shanny is nothing more than a figure head either. Funniest/most disturbing thing to emerge from yesterdays brawl-olopalooza was Crosbys unwaivering defense of his own Douchebaggery. That clown was the central figure in the first brawl....not only touching it off with his Paul Bunyan tactics on Bryz.....but then fanning the flames with his impersonation of a Canadian curler....brooming Voraceks glove away from him. He actually defended his actions by saying.......tell me if you've heard this before......"its playoff hockey" and this nugget of wisdom "what am I suppose to do, pick his glove up?" No Sid.....you don't have to pick it up.....but I'm guessing acting like a 3 year old knocking over another kids sandcastle wasn't the appropriate behavior either......how about leave it alone.....jackhole.

Does anyone feel confident in their (Shanahan and Bettman) ability to get these suspensions right?
