I know most people don't like this idea. But with larkin being so young and already a top 6 center, and nielson locked up long term, why not trade aa in a package for a dman? -
Chicago isn't "losing their edge" they sucked for a really long time and got a lot of really good/great young players and they were cheap. Now that they have to overpay these guys they can't afford to win anymore cups.

While I'm not disagreeing that he may have stayed if the team was better, how can you argue against the fact that he's back in his country and closer to his daughter. And as others have pointed out since he won't just be playing in his teams city he will probably be a lot closer to his daughter for half his away games. -
