I don't think anyone said don't trade him for anything. But no one was willing to trade nyquist mantha pulkinen and a first round pick for yandle. Also I still believe he can be a 40 goal power forward. He needs to bulk up but he has the frame and skills for it -

I hope his "very very very disappointing" year doesn't entice them to trade him as a knee jerk reaction especially for Phaneuf -
I'd also like to point out the only time Pittsburgh made it past the second round since 09 when they won the cup was 4 years later in 12/13 and they immediately got swept in the conference finals by Boston.

To be honest, I didn't think any player was truly that bad these playoffs. Just nobody was truly great, or stepped it up as a hero
