You know, I would have been able to handle a loss to Canada, but this crappy goal from that sob just made me want to throw up. I didn't know it was possible but it made me hate him even more than I already did. Good luck to you guys, but I hope you lose every game you play (no way that happens). -
Last time he scored 40 goals was 6 years ago. Last time he scored MORE than 40 goals was 8 years ago. Old news. If we're gonna make a guy the highest paid player in the game he needs to be consistently within the top 3 in goals and or points. I don't think that Vanek could do that at all.

Sorry, no thanks. If we're gonna pay a guy 9-10 a year they better be scoring 45-50 goals a season at least. That'd put him at the top next to Ovie for highest cap hit in the league. Not worth it to me.

If Franzen was healthy I'd say put him in with some other pieces, otherwise I'm not sure, I know Alfie probably doesn't want to move but right now I think they have a much better chance at winning it all than we do, so maybe him? -

St. Louis is one of the classiest players in the league. Even if he was a bit salty about it, no way would he decline. Also last chance to play for your country, I don't see him saying no. Yes, the reflexes in his knee are second to none, especially when someone's head is near by! -

I've never heard of Diaz, but if the Canucks got him by giving up such a low quality player that's unfortunate. However I don't think anyone is going to take Sammy at this point, he's been healthy scratched in GR. He just has absolutely zero value and just needs to retire. Either way I would be surprised to see Kenny make any moves before the deadline. Our guys getting healthy will be our deadline acquisitions. -
Yet somehow, with all the great players they have, they'll still manage to mess up their season, because, well that's what Minnesota teams do

I know what you mean, I wish he'd come back too. Also I'm a Packer fan, so what you're saying is you want Lidstrom to go play a season in Dallas then sign with the Blackhawks after? -

No, what I mean is once he is healed I would expect him to be able to put up 25 goals a year which I think would let us be able to keep Jurco in.

I really like the idea of this. If they do, I'd hope they have him work with one of the defensive assistants, or even Chelios or Lidstrom so he can get his game on point. I think the pressure put on him to perform on a team that doesn't give him much help has kind of ruined his confidence. I don't think they'd buy him out and I'm sure they'd want something ridiculous for him though.

Pass. I agree with what has been repeated in other threads. This guy intends on testing the FA market at the end of the season. No way would I give up any player that is important to our future (Gus, Tatar, Jurco, Mantha, Dekeyser, etc.) for some guy that's just going to bolt as soon as some morons throw a $8M/year contract at him.

If they want to move Nyquist, Tatar, or Jurco, it better be for someone who is pretty damn good that's going to likely stay the rest of their career with us. Not too many guys that are supposedly available where I'd be happy to get rid of those guys for right now. -
Yeah I donno, every time I watch that movie and see him I think of Crosby. Such a punchable face. I could definitely see him say something like that, but probably more about how perky Bettman is.

This is awesome. Gus totally deserves it. I just hope he keeps on playing this way after!
