On the other hand he is not charged for anything by now. But If I was a Hawks fan I'm not sure I would have any fun watching a game when Kane is playing. It's a tough decision to make for the league and definitely not a good situation for the Hawks and the NHL as a whole.

Tough question, it's like asking if it is more important to have a steering wheel or a brake to drive a car. A 1st-rate center and 1st-rate defenseman both are very complete players, are a huge part of both offensive and defensive department and in that very similar regarding their importance for a team. I go with the defenseman though, but only because of the slightly bigger minutes those guys are eating each night.

Tough choice, but If you made me I'd choose Nyquist. They are both great players and Tatar brings something that this team was lacking for a couple of years : The raw will score. But as others have pointed out Nyquist is the better all round player with a little more upside than Tatar, so my vote goes to him.

Looks like Richards is our insurance in case Dats and Z get injured. For that the pricetag is a little bit hefty for my taste but we have the caproom and with the 1-year term I can't see anything wrong with that signing. Nothing exciting, but nothing disappointing either. -

Great signing, this hopefully will give our team the much needed offensive power from the blueline. Sure, the 6 million in the books are a risk, but one worth taking. And our streak with bad UFA signings has to end at some point. As long as he doesn't pick #90 as his number I'm very optimistic Mike Green will help us a lot. -
Yes, he decided against a better monetary offer from us and other teams to go to the Pens. And I like your thinking about the DeKeyer-Quincy pairing.

Erhoff wouldn't be a bad option. A first paring of him and Kronner sounds like a legit first pairing and would come with the benefit of giving Ericsson a position in our second pair he is not overstrained with.

I said it many times, I'd like Green being a Red Wing. But our chances are indeed very slim if Green doesn't take us as his ticket to the Cup. There is always a GM involved in the negotiations that is more willing to overpay than Ken Holland. And I'm glad there is.

Lokk like a desperation move from LA at first glance but why try something you'll fail with for sure and damage your reputation at the same time ? There has to be something to it, Richards and NHLPA would call the bluff without a doubt if it is one. Or maybe I give the Kings organisation more credit than it deserves, who knows......

Not good. First Hiller now Granato. I hope Blash is able to get replacements that are as good these two. Our excellent special teams are one of the main reasons we made the playoffs and if they fail to be as good we might have a big problem. -

At the end of his presser Holland said it's their choice if they want to work under the new head coach and that they did sign them to the one year deal for that reason. So nothing is set. Keeping Granato would indeed be huge, though. -
