Boston would need to drop four points (including the game tonight), Ottawa one and the Pens three. So essentially to kick us out Boston at least needs to win one game + one OT/SO loss, Ottawa needs two wins and the Pens need to win one. If all this happens we're out. If only one of these things don't happen we're in. Edit : Small mistake on my side. Like us Pens only need to win one game in regulation, because of their then better ROW. But if the Pens win only in SO, we'd have the tiebreaker because the season series is 2:1 for Detroit.

I think people are too hard on Ferraro. Being called up for a regular season game is one thing, being called up at the end of a season to play in a crucial game with a slumping and probably very nervous team is a completely different thing. I want to see him in a few other games next season before I build my opinion how good he is or will be at an NHL level.

Probably. But if it all comes down to this game for them even the Sabres can be an unsettling opponent. Those games are never easy, see our game tonight against the Hurricanes. The pressure will be high and a team like the Sabres could be very motivated to kick a team like the Pens out of the playoffs. It's their management tanking, not the players.

An already clinched Montreal without Pacioretty. Those are absolutely winnable games for us. Pittsburgh on the other hand is in free fall right now and is still missing Malkin and Letang. It's Pittsburgh and maybe even Boston (depending how they play their third last game) that is in deep trouble, not us.
