I do and I still think it's a good idea. Smith was our best D-man out there today, admittedly in a team effort where my grandmother probably would have been our best player (and she's dead). But using this game of all games to pick on Smith is strange to say the least. Same goes for the people who complain about Howard btw. This teams problems are certainly not named Jimmy Howard or Brendan Smith.

We are clearly slumping, butt better now than in the playoffs. We are still in a good position and have time left to figure it out. And we will, situations like this are fortunately nothing unusual for the vets.

Not to take anything away from Helm but his absence is a lame excuse for this slump. There are enough quality players on this team.

Jep, on the positive side we outshot them, on the negative side during most of these shots Bobrosky wasn't screened or the shots themselves were from garbage positions. If Wings become better at positioning especially between the goalie and the shooter they will get better results.

That and he had to make the decision in a split second. On the other hand you can expect from a Top2 Defender to make the right decision in that time. It's not so much this mistake alone, it's the number of mistakes made by our top pair as a whole that concerns me. I wonder if Babs is changing the system because of our new acquisitions.
