If .923 SV% and 2.14 GA are making you one of the worst starting goalies in the league what are Tukka Rask, Ben Bishop, Roberto Luongo and Jonas Hiller to you ? Pavelec wasn't good the seasons before. I give you that, but he's riding a nice streak atm. . That said Wings should beat the Jets 3-2, because we have the better goalie in net tonight, streak or not.

I also agree on the new year being the benchmark for Carlyle. I also agree that he's caricature of a NHL-Coach. But I don't think Carlyle is the main problem. If you need to have guys like Kadri centering your first line and Phaenuef/Franson being your best pair of defenders you first have to fix your roster before you fire the coach. I know, this not how it works in sports but its not only Carlye who is to blame here. Burke and the whole backoffice f***ed Toronto up and it's still showing.

The solution to the problem is simple : All of this of course wouldn't have happened with McGrattan......

Absolutely. Sounds strange but you can train that. When I had my first fight me and my whole training group sucked during the first round, but kept KO'ing the respective opponent in the second or third. Our trainer later confessed having trained us for that on purpose, just to make sure that we are better during the last two rounds. I think Babs did something similar with the Wings as we usually suck the first 10 minutes but play very well during third periods.

Good news is Wings still have one period left to step up and turn this game around.
