Last year during preseason, we did the Detroit-Toronto-Detroit trip for three games in three days. After attending the Toronto house, I realized what a poor but adequate arena the Joe really is. Concourse is small, rest rooms aargh, and the travel to and from is brutal. Joe is ok but there are much better rinks around the league. That being said, most new arena builds, regardless of the sport, are purely accounting based decisions. Not done for the fans, but for the bottom line.

Isles acquire Tim Thomas to get to cap floor.

Really factual account of this trade (?) on ESPEN site. Basically an accounting move for both teams. Due to his 35+ contract his salary counts whether he plays or not. Gets the Isles off the Floor and gives Bruins some Cap relief. -
After watching this first few games this season, I am really starting to miss guys like Lidstrom, Rafalski and Yzerman running the Power Play. Babcock needs to focus on this area of their game. They are missing too many opportunities.

NHL rescinds match penalty to Blues' Backes

Upon replay it was a bad call, but from behind and at full speed I see how maybe the ref missed it. He should have at least conferred with other refs. Oh well, sometimes we get the calls and sometimes we get the shaft, this time we win the game. I believe the NHL made the right final judgement, Backes is not a goon. -
Hello, newbie to this board. After 30 years in MI, I just moved to the Louisville area. No FSD down here, so I am looking at getting NHL Gamecenter Live thru my Apple TV app. Is this good or bad? What about blackouts? I've read there blackout rules, but can't make heads or tails from their explanation. If a game is on FSD does that prevent me from watching on GCL. Thanks, Craig
