I mean, maybe Mrazek WANTED to get out and wanted trade OR exposure to be the way. We don't really know anything that's going on behind the scenes. Holland isn't the type to just give s*** away for free. He'll he's been known as a "hoarder" around here for the last 3 or 4 years. Alternatively maybe there was a deal with Vegas to NOT take Mrazek? Maybe their long term goal with this guy was never to actually trade him but to keep him here for the long haul and they went about it the way they did? This situation has far too interesting to be as simple as it is. I think something is brewing behind that Ken Holland desk that we don't know of. Whether it's disciplining a player, or a side deal or trolling or actually wanting to get rid of Mrazek but failing.

It's concerning to me that people are honestly this blind about Petr Mrazek. He's seriously inconsistent and proven to be nothing more than an average goalie (so far). This is all interesting because two years ago, you and others were bashing Howard for being mentally weak and praising Mrazek for his mental strength. Now I see the mental weakness that Mrazek has shown has turned into an excuse in his case. But for Howard it was a reason to get rid of him.

That's exactly how I feel man. They probably would have taken Z. Especially if they're looking for a captain or something. He was a top point producer in the league last year and the cap hit is nice for them to reach their cap limit. Not to mention he has no NTC, NMC and they wouldn't actually have to pay him much since his salary drops to $3.5 million then $1 million. A $6 million 70-ish point producer that you DON'T actually pay wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up. There are a very few older players you want on your team in this lesgue. Z is one of them. The other one is Joe Thornton. Also Marian Hossa.

Maybe eventually but I still think Fleury is the better goalie for Vegas especially if they miraculously make playoffs. The tandem would be good though.
