I don't think it's 3. Who the hell are we to know Mrazek's ACTUAL market value? The only ones that know are the 30+ league GM's. We don't know jack s*** we just assume. It's either 1, 2, or 4 or some other reason.

I don't think NHL GM's are liars. They seem to all have a good professional relationship in this league. I've never heard of anyone in the recent decades lie and swing deals or aquire players like that all the while pretending to be uninterested. They seem like straight shooters.

You think Bertuzzi, Nosek and Frk will get Red Wings into the playoffs? Because that's what my question is. At best they're cheaper (and maybe slightly better down the road) versions of Glendening and Sheahan. Nosek I can see being a replacement for Sheahan but Bertuzzi kinda sucked in the NHL in the games he played. Frk played two NHL games last season and was a -3. But I admit, Frk is a toss up and no one really knows with only a 2 game sample size. The difference between AHL and NHL is bigger than what people are assuming. The only one I'm looking at that impressed me was Svech. He's one of the youngest on the team, was 3rd in overall scoring in the season and a pretty good playoff run. And it was all in his first year in the AHL as a 19 year old, unlike the players you mentioned who have been there for years and are in their 20s.

DK is a number 1 defenseman, Larkin is ELITE, Glendening has heart and defensive prowess and.... Enough with the Americans. I'm over it.

Risky move by Yzerman imo. A lot of it is based on luck. Montreal at the moment has a guaranteed scorer on their roster.

No dude, he sucks. Even besides his cap hit. He's not that good defensively, often gets burned by players and offensively his points total isn't all that good. He had a couple of really good years in Calgary and has declined since then. I would rather have Brenden Smith than him. Cheaper, and probably only slightly worse overall yet better at moving the puck. Not to mention Phaneuf takes a lot of stupid penalties. And don't get me started on his possession metrics lol.

No and I think the guys you mentioned will be great 4th line players for us. I've even advocated for them being up here instead of Glendening, Sheahan (I want him picked up by Vegas). But the Calder cup win in no way indicates we will somehow turn into a playoff contender because these players are champs. I'm not saying you implied that I'm saying a few people are hyping it up that way online (facebook, twitter etc)

They are going to be 2-3 who make the roster at some point... As 4th line players at best. Except Svech. But those 4th line guys aren't going to be the ones turning us into a contender; they're simply going to be.... 4th line players. The only one on the roster that will likely be significantly impactul for this team down the road (who knows when) is probably Svech. Everyone else is a spare part replacing a more expensive spare part (Sheahan, Glendening, Miller). Frk is a big question mark did well in the AHL, but the two NHL games he played he was terrible. Could be different this year, I don't know. I don't think anyone knows.

Like who out of curiousity. Svechnikov will be a top 6 player.
