You gotta wonder what goes on in his head with the colossal failure of a performance this year. I'd probably be crapping myself. I don't think I've been this disappointed in a player since Aaron Ward. I'm sure he's a great guy but 6 points and -14.. Oooof!
-
Thank god you finally admit to Mrazek having a down year... And you're right, he would definitely get claimed if it came down to exposing him and I'm not sure if they would risk that.
-
To help with this part of your question, I believe neither Fedorov or Fetisov came because of their work obligations in Russia.
-
No because they aren't Detroit sports celebrities. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Drummond, Cabrera, Verlander, Stafford. And who the hell would want to know about Lilja. Now Downey, tell me more. One of my favorite southpaws of modern hockey fighting (aside from McCarty and Laraque). Speaking of that, if I was the GM, I'd try to draft a player capable of both fighting and scoring. And I'm not kidding either. The entertainment value would be insane for Hockeytown. The fans here especially have been craving it.

I just don't see them sending a $4 million goalie down. But who knows

I really am not interested in settling for mediocrity. When Toronto tried to rebuild they went out and got Babcock. if we're doing the same we need to go out and find someone who is a damn good coach and is available.
-
This made me lol so hard
-
Indeed I am. But those two points were common knowledge on the free press if you're in Detroit.
-
That and Datsyuk has a 2 year old daughter and Zetterberg had a 1 year old son. With Datsyuk's magical hands and Zetterbergs will power. Ooof might be a freak of nature player. Hmm... As a GM I would push for them to get married.

I would fire Blashill if we keep losing. I'd be willing to bet my left hand that the players are pointing fingers at him. The relationship is most likely going sour. It's not that Blash is bad but removing him is more of a "psychological" solution for the players sake. This is common practice in the corporate and administrative world. CEOs are fired to show the buyers that the company is headed in a better direction even if the CEO isn't at fault. Then bring in a new WELL ESTABLISHED NHL coach. The rest is whatever you guys are saying in the previous posts. 1. Either unload all the long term contracts for draft picks and rebuild the entire roster the next 5 years with kids. - Keep Zetterberg for sentimental reasons, we owe it to him to finish his career here. 2. Or get rid of SOME contracts and do a semi-rebuild and try to be a top 10 team in the next 3 years. 3. Beg Scotty Bowman to come back and become a consultant. Offer him some cookies if needed. For #3 find a cloning machine and bring this version back. Poor guy is 83 now.

1. Cry 2. A lot.

Heheheh we'll see if you're right and if Blashill sticks around a few years. I predict he'll be gone if we don't get any better.
-
He was a POS whenever he played against the Red Wings. A pest at times. Great scorer though. A player I'd want to have but hate to play against. Probably a lesser version of Shanahan.
-
Honestly it's not a bad idea. He would be a great candidate. The only problem is the whole pride issue. But it's a business and if you're willing to put rivalries aside and want to get work done then why not.

3.11 GAA and .896 Sv % after tonights loss.. Ouch.
-
That's got to be one of his worst birthdays ever and is still probably haunting him seeing as though we still have a conflict in the crease since that day.
-
If it ain't broke don't try to fix it. Mrazek was fine with Bedard. I just don't see how the new coach has been beneficial. Like was the move ultimately a good one? Either way, we'll see what happens.
-
Just going to put this out there... Anybody else feel like getting rid of a goalie coach as good as Jim Bedard and promiting an AHL goalie coach ended up screwing Mrazek over this season?
-
Jimmy lost because we couldn't score. Today we scored 3 but didn't get bailed out by the goalie. I think that's what superhero's point is.
-
We've had defensive issues for 3 years now. It's nothing new. We just happened to have a goalie playing terribly and/or unable to bail us out.
-
I give credit to Smith for not losing. Kane's a trained fighter.
-
After watching the guy for more than 15 years I still could never understand his interviews ----- KANE AND SMITH HELL YEA LETS DO IT.

Dave Lewis

Wouldn't be a Mrazek game without at least 3 goals scored on.
-
Hahahahah. Zetterberg scoring a Zetterberg goal. AHahhahaha omg I'm actually laughing out loud.
