It can't get any worse in my opinion. It will either be the same or better. The team we have is a decent team. Just wasn't at full potential with a rookie coach. ----- Omg guys Steve Ott has a better faceoff percent than everyone on our team over his career. Does this mean we should use him in every key defensive situation to take the faceoff? Should we use him when we have a 1 goal lead and there's 2 minutes left to play? Is he the new Luke Glendening? I know a few around here have praised Luke because of his sole stat of being good on faceoffs. Steve Ott is even better! (56% on faceoffs). Can kill penalties too and is "gritty". Also has better possession numbers and likes to shoot the puck rather than sit and take the shots. I'd like to see Larkin, Abby, Tatar and Nyquist get 17-18+ minutes a night. And I'd like to see the veterans (except Nielsen) have a significant drop in ice time. The 4th line should have their 5 on 5 time reduced as well. Also AA needs to have his ice time increased. He made the most out of his limited ice time last year. I'm not sure what else a player has to do to prove himself. What was it like 8 or 9 goals he scored in 30 something games with like 9 minutes of ice time a night??

Don't even think it matters what line he's on in this coaching system. We have 4th liners getting as much ice time overall than some 3rd and 2nd liners. Including 5 on 5 times.

I'm leaning towards blaming things more on Blashill. For the longest time Babcock was all about "drive the offense and SHOOT THE PUCK" menatlity. With Blashill idk what his dam philosophy is. Under Blashill the non possession players all had their 5 on 5 time increased and possession players like Tatar had their ice time decreased. On top of all that the Red Wings dropped from being Ranked 8th in shots against with Babcock to ranked 16th under Blashill. And shots against does correlate to goals against in our case. We were the only team with one of the worse goals for/against ratios in the league that squeezed into playoffs.

Holland has said in at least two interviews that he gave Babcock the power to chose his lineup. So I find it hard to believe that Holland is not flexible. Babcock ran that team. Blashill probably doesn't have the same power Babcock did. Not yet at least. Remember the Commodore story?

I just find it hard to believe they'll send Ott down after signing him as a free agent. I think it's going to take a few months before that happens. I could be wrong though.

I bet he'll still have Larkin on Wing lol. And switch Vanek with Nyquist. Blashill might still believe Tatar and Nyquist have epic chemistry.

Really? I'm pretty sure Winnpeg has been ranked as the best for a while now. I remember talking in PM's about it with Jimmy last year. This is The Hockey Writers article from last year. Jets probably retained #1 because of drafting Laine. Toronto probably jumped up because of Mathews. Red Wings dropped from #7 to #21 somehow. It's too bad that all our top players had their primes cut short. Franzen had 2 dominant playoff years, Datsyuk had two 90 point seasons, Z never scored goals like he once did after 09. That was a short lived era. Dam what could have been if we won in 09. Still haunts me. Anyways I digress. Yes we need a good powerforward. I liked what I saw from Mantha in his short stint, personally thought he was a better net front presence guy than Riley Sheahan on the PP.

Our first round didn't go as well because Hasek was not doing so hot. We won the first round because of Osgood. The second round was a combination of Franzens dominance and the euro twins running circles around Joe Sakic. I remember one of the goals Franzen scored short handed off a rebound, Zetterberg did a deke that made Joe Sakic spin out on ice. I've never seen that before, it was painful to watch Sakic get humiliated. But yeah, Franzen was beast that series even while short handed on PK. But I wouldn't give him all the credit.... He got injured and we still dominated the Dallas series without him. It's foolish to think one player was the reason they won the cup. The team was so good overall that even with Franzen's injury they had the ability to dominate.

Lmfao lets not get ahead of ourselves. Almost all the games he "freakishly" scored on we won like 4-0, 8-2 and like 5-1 against Colorado. We had plenty of scoring all around from our team because our team was just that good with the Lidstroms, Franzens, Datsyuks, Zetterbergs and Osgood just dropping shutouts and 1 goal games left and right. Hell even Niklas Kronwall had like 15 assists and lead the team in the stat. That team was unbeatable all around from forwards to defense to goalie to coaching. Probably one of the best teams put together post salary cap era.

Nah Ned wanted to leave Kings Landing with his daughters and Sansa freaked out cuz she was in love with Joeffrey and went to Cersei and told her Ned wanted to leave. They didn't show that part in the show though I don't think, although it's implied. Cersei was about to be arrested by Ned and the gold cloaks (i think because she admitted to Ned about screwing Jamie and her kids not being legit) and soon after that, Ned was going to leave Kings Landing with his daughters. That was the original plan anyway. But after Sansa freaked out and spilled the beans to Cersei, Cersei figured out Neds plan and ended up hiring out the gold cloaks against Ned and got Littlefinger on her side too and they ended up arresting him instead. She basically flipped the plan on Ned. Thanks to Sansa's insider info. Although Sansa was dumb enough to think that Cersei and Joffrey actually liked her. She got played and in the process of being naive, got her dad arrested and eventually killed.

We need a goal scorer. Mantha is probably the best chance of having one out of all our prospect pool. At least on paper that is.
