Won't work. Proxy servers all day to cheat that. If NHL does decide to do it then "tech savy" folks will be sure to get a kick out of abusing the votes even more. And now instead of having one john scott per AS game, you may very well have 3 or 4. People get a kick out of screwing with those who put restrictions. They're better off leaving it the way it is or only making players eligible for vote if they are currently leading the team in one of the major stats or something. Besides, this whole John Scott fiasco worked in NHL favors too. John Scott had a heroic night but the NHL brought in a lot more viewers and money because of it. It was a win-win situation for both parties in a sense.

https://detroitjockcity.com/2016/01/30/red-wings-dylan-larkin-artemi-panarin-better-rookie/ Found and interesting article comparing Larkin vs. Panarin "On average per 60 minutes of ice-time, Larkin produces more goals, primary assists, and points" "Primary Assists per 60 minutes: Larkin produces almost double the primary assists Panarin does" "Larkin’s higher Fenwick, along with the lower Goal Against average value, really display his impact on the defensive side of the ice." Here's the gist of the advanced stats they compared: "Looking at this side by side comparison, you can see the large impact Larkin has on his team." "Without Larkin, the Red Wings average between 1 and 2 goals; but with Larkin, it jumps up to between 3 and 4 goals. It seems as if the Red Wings play collectively better when Larkin is on the ice, with a particular effect on offense."

Yzerman Reportedly Playing in Alumni Game Against Colorado
kickazz replied to vladdy16's topic in General
Stevie was definitely a huge part of booming up hockeytown when I was growin up. But something tells me Mike Illitch and family would have gotten this team back on track no matter what. -
Wow, someone grab him some tissue to clean up. He's right tho Yzerman was in a league of his own. I don't think Larkin will ever be as good as prime Yzerman was. The guy was just too good at every aspect of the game. He could thread by 2 defenseman or forwards and score in the weirdest of angles. -------- “They booed me all weekend. I don’t think they like the Blackhawks here,” Kane said. “I didn’t expect it." Seems like Patrick Kane doesn't have a clue to the real reason why he was booed xD. Or a pretty good cover up comment to the media. Latter is likely true.

If I had to put money on it - just by the way things have played out I'm going to go ahead and say that Larkin will win the Calder for sure (100%). He's simply attracted way too much attention at this point. Unless he hits a wall the second half of the season that is.
-
Doubt it Montreal won't bring him up. Never know though. ------------------- Henrik Lundqvist @HLundqvist30 6m6 minutes ago Love it!!!!! Have not smiled this much in a long time watching a hockey game.. #JohnScott #MVP #NHLAllstar https://pbs.twimg.com/tweet_video/CaF5lPqUYAAli1T.mp4

What a way to leave the NHL for John Scott. He did it in an epic fashion.
-
And he donates it to charity.
-
Get Scott the hattrick!
-
John Scott has more all-star goals than Sidney Crosby - the "best player in the world".
-
He allegedly raped a woman, didn't ya hear it on the news like all summer long?

Hey guys check this out. http://www.wingingitinmotown.com/2016/1/31/10879490/dylan-larkins-all-star-fastest-skater-run-was-legit Mathematically speaking Larkin was still faster than Gartner even in the new format. So that argument sort of goes out the window.
-
Yeah. Ofcourse it's not an official speed skating contest and rather a hockey fastest skating comp. The ability to handle the obstacles (tight rink, hockeystick in your hand, sharp turn, and curved skates rather than flat ones) and do it fast is what it's about.
-
Wonder if Helm still has his peak speed like he did. If so I'd say front to back Helm would beat Larkin. But in terms of lap race I just feel like Helm would be too damn fast to keep himself from slipping.
-
Helm might be faster but probably way more prone to slipping. So I think Larkin would end up winning if it was a lap race.
-
Anyone think Helm could beat Larkin's new record?
-
Dylan Larkin holds the new record. End of story. Just have to accept it and move on.
-
Meh let the people complaining about Larkin complain. I'd rather him have the record regardless of the complaints. Didn't people complain about Fedorov vs Gartner? I think Fedorov technically beat him but Gartner's stick was ahead (making him the eventual record holder). I was kind of young but I remember watching it.
-
Larkin also slipped and still beat it though. So imo the start from blue line was nullified. If he did a redo and started in the "right position" he'd still probably beat it as long as he doesn't slip.
-
Beat Gartners record. Wonder how big of a boost that is for ROY.

The way I look at it, some people will be crying for a long time. No one will beat the record for a while. So if they're into long term b****** that's their choice.
-
I hope people realize that Larkin shattered the record.
