12/08 GDT : Red Wings at Washington Capitals, 7:30 ET

Yes he could. And I'm saying that with confidence. I honestly don't mind it. I think Daniels being on national broadcast and having a bit of pro-Detroit commentating is a good thing for the organization. It's subtle but imo its a good thing for us!

    Ferraro on waivers

That's a bit of a weak argument. The first article is opinion based - a journalist claiming he might be the face of the franchise (similar to the way journalists over hype players like Eichel over Larkin even though Larkin is inherently the better player!). and the second one is jersey sales. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/patrick-kane-had-the-best-selling-nhl-jersey-of-2014-184731755.html http://www.ranker.com/list/greatest-boston-bruins-of-all-time/ranker-hockey I can do that too. ^ I think it's more legit if the org claimed these things or maybe even a fan poll from Boston. Maybe Lucic was the face behind the grit Boston brought. I would agree with that aspect probably. Anyways before I diverge anymore lol.. back to Ferraro. Any word on how he's fitting with the the B's?

    Ferraro on waivers

Wtf since when was Lucic the face of the Bruins?! I hope you're only kidding Frank.. Ive been to a few Bruins games (sister lives out there) and Bergeron/Chara have always been the "face" of that organization imo.

Jeff Blashill = Dave Lewis 2.0 / Coaching Change

He could if they keep playing like they are and end up top 3 seed. We're climbing the standings for sure. But realistically I can see us dipping down again before picking it back up. The usual. Personally these last 5 or 6 games I must say his coaching is at another level. Who would have thought that Nyquist and Tatar would do as well as they are on a line together. Babs couldn't get them going together. Blash forced it and has been getting results. And as much as Smith annoys me, he's been playing pretty well under Blash - same goes for Kindl. I think if he won it - that would be sort of funny seeing as though Babs didn't with the Wings..

    The person below me game...

A lot of secrets as I work in field that requires a lot of confidentiality. TPBM would keep a $20 bill that they found rather than give it to a lost & found of some sort. (not judging either way)

    Hey!

Ties won't come back to this league. People want results now. Playing 60 minutes straight of a brutal sport and having nothing to show for it (win or a loss) annoyed the heck out of a lot of people. Also, ties are not good for the NHL from a marketing standpoint either.

    Hey!

Also if we're worried about 35+ year olds on 3 on 3, honestly might be better to sit them a bit. Most of our goals scored on OT have been by our young guys anyway. Except Kronwall. But he plays defense anyway and his longevity is pretty good.
  14. kickazz

    Hey!

a 5 minute 3 on 3 with at most 3 MAYBE 4 shifts that probably last 40 seconds each won't give a 35+ year old a heart attack. What are they 60 or 70 years old? You do realize 35 is a pretty young age right? Zetterberg JUST had his first new born.. Lol. To put it into perspective. It's like not even close to middle age. What would kill players is what I suggested earlier with sarcasm. Doing 5 on 5 overtime sudden death like they do in the playoffs. Now that actually could kill a player over the couse of in an 82 game season for 15-20 years of his life. Simply because 5 on 5 shifts are longer, and there's more than just 3 shifts. You looking at another 10+ shifts per OT period. And a shootout to me isn't real hockey rather than a skills competition. I'd rather have an OT before it gets to a skills competition. A 5 min overtime with 3 shifts (40 second each) won't kill ya. Especially since on a 3 on 3 , someone ends up scoring at some point. Worst case scenario they don't score. At which point they go to S/O. But that's a rarity for the Wings now anyway.

    Hey!

Imo 3 on 3 is still better than shootouts which largely depends on whether or not you have good shooters. I'd rather them play actual hockey (be it 3 or 4 or 5 players each side on ice). Haven't you guys ever played a pickup game with just 6 or 8 guys? It's still hockey. We all did it at some point.
  16. kickazz

    Hey!

Since the shootouts nor the 3 on 3 overtimes seem to please everyone. They should just go to 5 on 5 overtime periods sudden death until someone scores. Just like during the playoffs That might please everyone. The only risk is that over the course of 82 games and 15-20 hockey season , a player might actually die of a massive heart attack.

    Hey!

didnt get to watch.. how were we? 3 pp goals on us ?? Did Blash stick with lines or juggle? And looks like Larkin generated his own offense again?!

musicians that are red wing fans?

No gang affiliations for pac, he was your typical mainstream boy. Just came off like he was because he had zero filter on his mouth and rapped about violence and eventually about world problems and corruption etc. Also is Eminem legit a Wings fan? I mean I get that he's a Detroiter - I've just never seen him rep the team.

Nah Tupac wasn't a fan but that pic is pretty dam famous/brought a lot of attention. Especially since Wings were know for their brawling back then. And yeah Sleepwalker you're right. Tons of rappers wore hockey jerseys back then, especially jerseys of well known teams. Bandwagoning I guess. But hey, I don't mind!

    Devils Sign Tootoo

Just flicked Bickell like it was nothing. I wish I knew why he doesn't fight more/ throw more big hits out. Maybe it's the Swede in him that keeps his fighting skills/big body in a check mate. I must say tho.. Tootoo is stacking up on these one-hit knockouts quite a bit. What is this like his 4th one in his career?! He seems to be meshing well with the Devils

Rapper legend that was a Wings "fan". Tupac. RIP. Mike Posner ofcourse. (Datsyuk was on him for a good few months on his twitter) Chad Kroeger of Nickelback And ofcourse the one and only. Emma frickin Andersson. (Am I allowed to post this pic?)

Bummer, Miller & Pulkkinen out a while

This is usually true when it's your superstar players that are slumping and/or the team is struggling. The Wings are in a tight race right now. The last thing Blashill is worried about is his 14th guy. To me, it actually makes more sense to get Richards going than Jurco. Richards is a proven winner. A proven center and power play quarterback. He's played at all levels and he has been a dynamic player in his career. Right now he's sucking. But if he can bounce back and become that center we need him to be - this team would very well be a cup contender. The plan was for Richards to center the 2nd/3rd line so Datsyuk and Zetterberg can play together i.e allow them to increase their longevity in the long run of the season. Right now Zetterberg is already slowed down (in fact I think the guy is probably slower than Mrazek in goalie skates lol) and Datsyuk is showing zero signs of being magical. But I do want to point out that there is a reason Richards was signed to a 1 year deal. This team is still looking to contend for the cup. If they were just looking at purely "what could be 5 years from now with our kids" then the whole Richard's signing would have been pointless to begin with. Their obvious aim is to look at the present while making sure to work towards the future. Also you can't really compare Tatar to Jurco. Tatar and now Larkin have both legitimately generated their own offense in their short time regardless of their line mates. Then again neither were given a 4th line situation like Jurco has - which I get does suck.
