Wait what? The hell do they mean? -
Woah. Low blow man. The guy almost died.

It's Bill. He just supports Smith because he's his biggest fan. Logical men are wrong when they point out all the statistics and visual proofs of Smith's screw ups. The coach is bad because he doesn't play Smith. The coach can't figure out his best players because he doesn't play Smith (ignoring the fact that the coach plays Dats, Zet, Nyquist, Tatar etc perfectly fine). Also somehow Holland sucks because Smith is scratched. Blah blah. But then Bill also posted this (#321) http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/topic/80424-roster-moves-by-the-wings/?p=2631818 So who knows....?

Which is why people should hope for Howard to be the better goalie and hope that he's the one that gives us the best chance. Mrazek doing better than Howie doesn't help us long term. Howard doing better helps us long term. It would be a win-win scenario. Because fact of the matter is Mrazek WILL be re-signed. If Howard outplays him then we get Mrazek back for cheap. See the logic?

Mrazek in. -
Hah. Riiiight. Especially since the thread title says exactly what you're saying now.

Yes it could be. It's been done in the past. But this can only last 14 days. And he's back to the Wings after that.I believe with waivers you don't need to tell the player about it when you're planning to send him down. With a conditioning stint you need the players permission. But Jurco really could have been injured. I personally get the feeling that Blash is trying to "re-develop" him short term and get him tons of minutes in GR and re-try him on the Wings roster. All of this is only working in Jurco's favor. I like it.

I honestly don't see any Red Wings forward making it to the all star game. Maybe Nyquist or Tats. I feel like even if Datsyuk or Zetterberg made it, they would somehow opt out of it.
-
They are definitely there. Just when he's sitting on the bench. My fav gif from this past season. Enjoy the link. http://gfycat.com/SecondHappygoluckyHoneybee

That's one of the few points you and I have agreed on hah. Although who knows, I may have thought differently about this 5 months ago..
-
I think it's allowed for conditioning reasons like a few weeks even without injury as long as the player agrees to it.Now sure 100% though. Anyone mind pulling the rule book out?
-
Smith on forward would probably be better.

It's not LGW man it's just internet forum posting. I'd say LGW is a lot better than HFboards. They had a "Fire Blashill" thread the 2nd week of the season.. There's other few forums out there that have some really extreme posters. At least here, we can all get along at the end of the day.

All bs and jokes aside on hating Smith. The guy just makes way too many dumb mistakes to not go noticed. Hence it's easy to make fun of him and call him out. Like Zombo and Joe said earlier. Other D-men make tons of mistakes too, but they usually have an upside that they bring MOST of the time (unlike Smith who has some good plays but a lot more of bad plays). Green is more good than bad. DK has been good in terms of his track record. Lately he's been meh. Hence he gets the benefit of the doubt. Kronwall has arguably been the best D-man since Lidstrom left - although he is also not doing so hot this year. So he too gets the benefit of the doubt. Quincey used to get s*** on for the longest time. Up until last year when him and Dekeyser proved to be our best defensive minded defensive pairing. Even Kindl has been proving that a coaching change was all he needed to bring in the confidence and do better. He's been our best offensive D-man as of late. If Smith could somehow have a consistent breakout performance, I guarantee you people would appreciate him a lot more. I remember I was probably one of the biggest Howard haters out there. Up until his 2013 performance the last 10 games or so to get into the playoffs. Even now I'm not Howie's biggest fan, but I'll always respect that performance. Same applies to Chris Osgood and his 2008/09 performance. He really got a boost from me late in his career. (I absolutely hated him in the mid 90's he was really really inconsistent.)
-
I bet it's a confidence thing. I think this will do him some good. Blash is being smart about this if it really is to help him get a boost. Either that or he's being sent down there to rescue the Griffins. xD
-
Offensively I agree. Defensively, I think Marchenko has the higher natural IQ than Kindl. Marchenko is still very young and he's already playing on par with some of our current D-men. Can you imagine if he's 28 years old like Kindl is? -- Praise from Blash. http://www.freep.com/story/sports/nhl/red-wings/2015/11/17/detroit-red-wings-jakub-kindl/75911454/

I said this in the other thread. It would be nicer if Howard is the one that outplays Mrazek and "edges" him out for this season. Mrazek will be re-signed in 2016 - it's a guarantee. If he becomes the defacto starter NOW, you better bet his agent will be asking for a hefty raise.
-
I want Howard to get "more" of the starts and be slightly better than Mrazek so that when do sign Mrazek to a contract in 2016, it will be cheaper. You give him all that playing time now and his agent will be demanding a hefty raise. So best hope they both do really well and Howard edges him out. It will help us in the long run.
-
Yea when the league figures him out those wont work. He has speed tho, he can adapt hopefully
-
He was predicted by Hank to be the most improved player this season. I'd say he's doing OKAY. I'd like to see a continued increase. His stats are better than Ericssons if that puts anything into perspective lol
