For those saying he threw away career due to drugs. I think he's got 4 cups. Sounds like a heck of a career on paper to me. I agree his drugs stuff was bad etc etc. But like it or not, he won the stanley 4 times. Thats more of a career than 99% of the players out there -
Abby-Zet-Nyquist was one of out best lines so I can see that happening till Datsyuk returns. Franzen - Richards - Tatar line seems okay in theory but I worry about the defensive part of the game. They all aren't very good at it.
-
Meh I don't know about that. He probably would have utilized Tatar/Nyqyust. D/Z due to their ability to thrive in space. I hope Blash does this. This is like the perfect scenario for Dat/Zet , Nyquist/Tat , Helm type of players. I'm expecting us to be one of the best in 3 on 3 situations

Wait you're telling me you're clueless as to who our backup is?!?! I second this. But I doubt they gained any weight. I don't think this is true. In his recent interview he mentioned that this summer he was actually able to condition and workout and last year he spent most of his time in rehab and couldn't workout as hard. He was bound to run out of gas if that was really the case
-
I'm expecting the same from Smith. Colossal failure.

Kobe Bryant did something stupid. Then brought 2 championships to the Lakers. Chicago will never disfavor Kane over what he (possibly) did. Superstars almost always get their way.
-
Without Abdelkader , Datsyuk and Zetterberg would not be able to play on a line together as he is our best power forward. The organization prefers them to play together so I'm assuming he sticks around for a while, just to have that option. Plus he's a michigan native, doubt he'd want to leave.
-
Every organization has it's sh**** people. NBA, NFL, MLB are full of it. In FIFA you have tax evaders. With money and fame, someone's bound to be that way.
-
His style was super unorthodox. But unorthodox goalies tend to be really good. Just wish he could have hit his true potential were it not for all those injuries. Good guy, hope he makes it, he deserves it.

Cleary must have compromising pictures of Holland.
-
Wait He's making more than some of our players that did more work last season. Lol.
-
I guess Babs and Scotty are similar but Scotty did have his moments of charisma that Babs lacked.
-
Didn't a lot of the 90s players dislike Scotty?

No it's a straight up message check out the interview video. Maybe Z sucked in the playoffs because the "best coach in all of hockey" was too stale to play for. Cool fact - Steve Yzerman had only 4 assists in 8 playoff games and a -4 rating in the 2000 playoffs. That was his version of "not playing like a captain in the playoffs". Funny thing is he also lead the regular season in points just like Z did. It happens. Even to the guys in your avatar.
-
Oh boy that could not have been anymore blatant. Ouch. To think, Babcock called Zetterberg "the coaches son" type of player a few years ago. I guess I'll take Z's word for it. I know a lot of posters here made this prediction early, about having a new voice behind the bench. Good assessment. Let's see how it plays out.
-
Just to play devils advocate though, wouldn't that make him selfish if not entitled then? There's times where I feel like Zetterberg plays in Datsyuk's shadows but you don't see him whining about it. At the end of the day people loved Yzerman, but they sure loved Fedorov too. Scotty loved the guy. It's hard when you're the best player in your prime but you have a captain on the team that's a world class player who is basically leaving his prime. Yzerman was that popular Canadian y'know?
-
I personally didn't think he was that arrogant, but there were 1 or 2 times where he gave us drama over his contract. That's where the "entitelement" topic comes in. Does that mean he should be looked down upon? No. It's a business at the end of the day.
-
I guess. I also feel like Feds was more naturally gifted overall. Like the preppy kid in grade school that had it all. I guess with that comes entitlement.
-
I can agree with that terminology. I am definitely more involved as well. But I did prefer the winning.
-
I enjoy winning. I enjoy watching my favorite teams win and bring glory back. It's more fun *

Never saw my Grandfather tear up. Till the 97 cup. He was so happy.

Defensively Datsyuk > Feds Overall player Fed > Datsyuk Flashyness Datsyuk > all But who knows sometimes I feel like Feds was better defensively
