I hope to see him put up at least 20 goals this year. He has the shot for it. He just needs the space. 3rd line + PP time will do him good. I can see him thriving on man advantage like Nyquist does.

Like someone already said, Holland's not going to come out and say "Franzen isn't ready" because the league would expect a retirement which screws us on cap. If Holland just says "I assume he will play" he can always pull the LTIR card when time comes and place Franzen on it without cap issues. Holland could be either honest when he says "Franzen might be ready" or he might be playing the media for business reasons.

. Im not concerned. This is the 21st century where modern medicine has made advances all over the world. It was kind of embarassing that Gordie Howe had to get his stem cell therapy in Mexico rather than the U.S. For the record Russian physcians are VERY good. But in any case if I had to guess I'd say he did his surgery here before he took off to his hometown

Common sense indicated he would have been out but there were hopefuls thinking he would be ready from day 1. We will be fine without him, surgery recovery is more important. I hope to see him by November-ish but it could be as late as December.

Ofcourse Dan Cleary is a great guy, most players in this league are. Thats why I take pride in being a fan of this sport as opposed to NBA or NFL. Hockey players have big hearts. Good reminder for us roboturner

Bump, The schedule looks pretty decently easy for the Red Wings the first month and a half of so. So even if they don't have Datsyuk until November, there should be no excuse as to not being top 4 in the conference imo. No I'm serious there was a stretch of time where we lost more games with him in the line up than when he went down with injury. I could be wrong. I'm strictly speaking wins and loses not advanced stats. I remember it kind of upset me little. (shouldnt have cuz we were winning lol)
