Mike Richard's Contract Terminated (Not Bought Out)
kickazz replied to P. Marlowe's topic in General
Not with illicit drugs no... Face it, he probably did something that's usually a slap on the wrist but the LA Kings used it as an opportunity to terminate the contract. Works out perfectly for them. -
Red Wings is an organization that can mold players really well. Not too worried about the no soul thing.

One rumor is he tried smuggling beer across canadian border. No sources, just blabber from other websites. -
Holland doesn't expect to be busy this offseason
kickazz replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Was this seriously a question on this forum? An even slower 40 year old Zetterberg is twice the hockey player Weiss would be. If Larkin makes the cut I think he'll be centering the third line and Sheahan could be centering the 2nd line. Weiss may be given a shot at 2nd line center but if he flopps it our centers will likely be Zetterberg, Sheahan, Larkin, Glendenning. If Larkin doesn't make the cut then Weiss will probably center the 3rd line if he blows his chance at 2nd line. Don't get me wrong, I like Weiss, but I'm also trying to be practical in my thought process. We need two way centers. Plain and simple. -
omg ahaha this is epic!

Neva forget the southpaw known as Aaron Downey.

Someone mind changing the thread title to #5 and #91 first class inductees or something along those lines? Congrats for both Lidstrom and Fedorov. Love these guys. Well deserved.

He's 13 pounds less than Tatar and 3 inches taller. Not sure if he's spending the summer bulking up a bit but it would probably help. If he can gain at least 10-15 pounds (muscle + carb/water + fat combined) I don't see much issue.

Exactly. Larkin basically controls his fate this year. There's not much on the organizational end that prevents him from making the team. This isn't the Red Wings of the old. Hollands gotten a lot more open minded about bringing youngsters earlier.

HHOF is easer to get than rafters tho. It helps his case but doesnt guarantee it.

I wouldn't say that. People wrote off Pav in 2014 season because his production dropped considerably and then sat out injured half of the season, plus people got pissy because they thought he was pretending to be injured/ resting up to play for his national team in the olympics. That same year Z was producing well over a point per game and had a breakout performance first quarter of the season. He was projected to destroy his 2008 point and goal scoring average. All until his disc was herniated. Then this year, Pav comes back and produces point per game while Z underproduces after the hit from Jamie Benn. My point is, we simply don't have enough evidence to write either of them off. Not after Pav's 2014 season nor after Hanks 2015 season. I'll consider it their outliers for now. I think these two need their rest and need their time to condition well at this age and they will perform just fine. To be honest I feel like the less unimportant games Pav plays, the better it is for him and for the Wings. If he joins them november or even december, all that means is he's got more fuel left in the tank for the playoffs. But... It's never fun not having the dangles around to start off a hockey season. I often get quiet bored not watching him on ice..

As mentioned, no one is an excuse to human anatomy. They're probably locking him down till he's built enough muscle mass to skate hard on his feet and built up his endurance. No reason to be put on a cast for the summer and then just go out and skate without conditioning yourself. The season/postseason is too damn long to do things that way. I'm still not worried about not having him to start the season. Would love it if Larkin proves himself this summer to be ready.

1. It's serious if he played through an injury even next season. Now he is "healthier" and "fixed" which is an upside. I don't think it would threaten our playoff run too much. Pav has been injured a lot. In those times other players have stepped up quiet a bit. We still have Hank, and we have experienced younger squad now. Remember when we were missing both Pav and Hank last year? We still made it and it was with an under-experienced squad. 2. I agree, but like Jimmyemeryhunter said, Pav doesn't need to rely on his speed to dangle in close quarters. It might affect his overall game, but a slow Datsyuk is still beneficial to us. 3. I agree his leg strength will be awful even with the "best trainers" in the world, the human body has its limits. He will lose muscle mass but gain it back as well, but gaining muscle mass takes a loooooooooong time.

If it was a significant injury it's supposed to be reported. I can't really find anything on his database regarding injuries when he was younger. The lack of performance back then is probably just like any normal player in this league.. most rookies and youngsters take a while to start becoming playoff performers.. I mean Nyquist has been getting a lot of heat for his playoff performance.. But in a year or two I'm sure he'll be producing well in the playoffs. Datsyuk developed well and that's all the matters now. So what if he wasn't a star in his first 2 or 3 years? Takes time. Not everyone is going to break out and perform like superstars when they enter the league. I did notice Pav was getting slower as the series progressed. Good to know there's an upside to this. What worries me is that being on a cast for the summer basically prevents you from working out and doing cardio. The offseason is imperative to use as a time for conditioning especially for a 36 year old. Hope he gets some conditioning time before season starts.

Aye but Lidstrom was complete defenseman not just defensive. His offense was unreal. How about the Orrstrom (lol) award (offensive) and Norris (defensive) - I still have respect for James Norris. -
Sign Cleary, bring Emmerton back.

Love you Stevie. . But you winning the GM of year award for an opposing team... Booooooooo -
Well deserved. Great leader on and off the ice. His contributions to the city of Detroit and around the world through Zetterberg Foundation have been tremendous. Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie King Clancy Award for community service goes to Henrik Zetterberg. http://www.wxyz.com/sports/hockey/red-wings/red-wings-captain-henrik-zetterberg-wins-king-clancy-award-for-community-work

3v3 would be advantageous for us seeing as though most of our production comes from smaller players that thrive off of space.

Love the poster. A great captain standing in front of a sh**** captain. Would be amazingly ironic if we smacked them 7-0. Still love ya babs, but no mercy.

If it was a no brainer it would have been retired years ago
