  1. Overall i think Toews brings more to his team than Crosby does. He's a better leader, better defensively. But I dislike both players and think both have been overrated this few years. Toews maybe not as bad. I will always support Datsyuk, Zetterberg even if they decline. I don't think there is anyone in the league that works harder than them thru injuries. Their contributions to the team and the city of Detroit is unparalleled. Z is having an off year and to me that's okay. He's done a lot for this franchise. Pav + Z to me will always be > Malkin/Crosby, Sedins, Kane/Toews, and so on. Been sticking up for Red Wings players since the days of the Russian 5 and always will. <3
  2. I'm still upset about the loss i gotta drink somemore
  3. Pav is better than Toews even at 50% the stats from this year even prove it. He has a better PPG, more takeaways, LESS penalty minutes than Toews and played almost 20 LESS games than him. You can't just say Toews is the best player when Toews has nothing to show for it. Pav is better than him in every facet even now. Z past his prime was better than him in 2013 playoffs as well. That's the thing with these main stream canadian players. They get more and more overrated as their careers pass.
  4. I agree with you. He's not the playoff Z of old. But he's still doing a hell of a better job than most of our forwards. Who do you want to put in for Z? Weiss? Cleary?
  5. Well apparently he's not the best all around player because he was not number 1 for +/- stats . (or any other stat for that matter) Sry but Toews is not at Pavs level even with Pav being 36. Pav is still > Toews. Pav is older too that's what makes the case for Toews weaker. Pav produces more points per game AND he had more takeaways in the season than Toews who played almost 20 more games than Pav did. Toews is a top 15 player, Pav is a top 10 player. At age 36 too.
  6. It's not a matter of whether or not he's still injured. It's a matter of why Lidstrom was so good. Not having injuries is better than having injuries. Z's injuries are in the past and theyve slowed him down. That doesn't warrant you to just quit playing the game. If that's how this league ran we would be out of players year after year. Most of the players in thie league play through injuries. It's an 82 game season. The fact that a slow Zetterberg can put up 66 points for the team doesn't go to show much about him but rather how it's embarrassing that our young guys aren't able to surpass him. All of our young guys are well into their prime.
  7. What's your point? He's the offensive player that should be scoring goals. That's his job.. You know who else was just an offensive player? Wayne Gretzky. Gordie How and Mario Lemieux. They were MVP players and considered best in their era. I have no idea what you're talking about. Toews best player? No... Just No.. Lol. He Toews had 66 points in 81 games this season. That's a worst Point per game than Zetterberg who had 66 points in 77 games. Toews is in his prime and Z is not. Seriously if you think Toews is the best player u have to start watching other teams play. Toews is nothing more than a top 15 player in this league.
  8. It's easy to steal with ur team falls apart 5 min to play >.>
  9. He was a +1 and Helm/Datsyuk were -3. Tatar, Ericsson, Kronwall -2. Tell me how exactly did he not show up? People need to open their eyes that one man CANNOT change the playoffs. If that was the case the Penguins shouldnt be losing the series when they have the BEST player in the NHL on their team. Not only that they also has the 2nd best. So where's this showing up about? No.. it's about unit cohesion. If you don't have a team effort. You're not going to make it far.
  10. Dude Zetterberg played better than game 1 and 2, I'm getting pretty sick of people expecting Zetterberg to play godlike. He's frickin 34 coming off a herniated disc back surgey last year. He made good plays and had a decent backchecking game and was +1. Just get over it and realize that this team overall is weak. We have a weak defense and our real forward outthere is Luke frickin Glendening. And i'll be the first to say that Datsyuk's line played terribly today including Pav. But Pav seems like he's hurt so I don't blame him either, he cant always be on top of his game hes frickign 36. Where's Tatar? Where's Shehean? Where's Jurco? You want a 34 year old and a 36 year old to carry this team? Nyquist was doing teerrible till he got a setup from Z and even then his game was disgusting. Others need to chip in instead of having exceptions from two veteran players every shift.
  11. If it was really his thumb, I wish Glendening wuda played thru the pain, it woulda been a difference maker.
  12. Mike Babcock does not believe in momentum
  13. Idk why people keep blaming E. There were giveaways and terrible backchecking along with Ericssons screw ups. Helm's make an idiotic play to begin with,
  14. Been sitting and staring at my TV in shock for a while now.
  15. Datsyuk and Helm -3. They fricking jinxed Datsyuk today with all those articles about how he's doing well.
  16. What happened to Glendening? missed it
  17. F***CKING SHOOT IT TATAR WTF
  18. Damn Datsyuk is not doing too well. Wtf.
  19. And THATS how you sell a penalty. F**k you refs.
  20. He wasn't strong on his feet when he tried to make the check. Gravity can screw u over sometimes lol
  21. God Mrazek does such a better job of covering the side of the net than Howard does. Some of those would have sneaked in on corner if Howard was in net.
  22. if you've played a day of hockey in ur life u know that was a dive. I've done it, tons of people do it. Part of the game and a way to draw penalties. Killhorn sold it.
  23. This crowd is so hype right now jesusss
  24. Smith doing Smith things wooo hoo
