The criteria is basically spending your entire career with the Red Wings and being an HOF player. So Zetterberg, Dats, Feds, maybe Osgood (still no Hall for him yet). Chelios has no chance. His prime was not with Detroit. He was known more for his Chicago days. -

Osgood has a Jennings he shared with a goalie. You say numerous other awards. He has none. I’m not saying Osgood won’t get in. I’m just saying you make it seem like he deserves number retirement (which is tougher than Hall of Fame), yet he might not even get HoF at this point because of the standards thay are seemed to be set by his fellow tenders. You say stats but his GAA and sv% was worse than Manny Legace. It’s not as obvious or easy as you think. -

The answer is theres literally zero goalies since 1980 that got in without a Vezina (unless I missed someone). Doesn’t bode well for Osgood. I think only 3 or so ever got in without a Vezina since 1960. But it was either because they played in another league and somehow contributed to NHL or some other exception. -
He said it in an interview that if he gets the symptoms again he's done. He got the symptoms again, went on LTIR. That was it. He kept his word basically. The topic was so talked about it was basically assumed why he went on LTIR.

First he needs to try to get into Hall of Fame (ongoing for years now). Then we can talk about jersey retirement lol. If you haven't noticed it's harder to get number retired than it is to get into hall of fame for the Red Wings -

When Z's jersey gets retired, the first person we laugh at is Jonas. Then Leftwinger since he started that propoganda fake news about Swedes wanting to play for their national team over the Red Wings or whatever that rubbish was. For years until they all declined the national team invites in favor of the Red Wings and he finally shut up. -
Yea so you can calm it with trying to compare Z to Datsyuk when it comes to loyalty. One guy left to go play somewhere else, the other guy refuses to quit until he becomes “unhealthy”.

Why before Z? Zetterberg was an assistant captain since like his 3rd year in the NHL and eventual Captain. He’s top 5 in almost every offensive category for the Red Wings franchise now. And he did it in a much harder era than other forwards did.. That guy is def going up first. -
