We won’t be able sign them. But with them we would definitely be a playoff team. This team lacks superstars, signing two of them would turn things around guaranteed 100%. Anyways I’m sure Yzerman and every other GM with cap space will consider getting one of them because you never pass up on free agent superstars. I know you’re hoping a deal doesn’t pan out, but they will definitely be on the radar.

What’s the point of this statement? Are you implying we shouldnt sign good players because Suter and Parise didn’t accomplish anything with Minnesota?? What was the point of Holland signing Hull, Hasek, Robataille for 2002 then?! Suter and Parise got Minnesota into the playoffs consistently. They were in a 4 year drought before that. Chicago was a powerhouse in the league and so was Pittsburgh. Karlsson and Panarin can get us into the playoffs, can get Larkin, AA, Mantha, Bertuzzi etc tons of experience at high level playoff hockey early in their career. And if lucky can win a cup if our coaching and goaltending can hold up.

Trouba - Karlsson Hronek - DK Hicketts - Byram Stanley Cup. -
I’m talking to you from the real world and demon world with these double convos. I would still go for Karlsson if the contract is designed well. I.E NTC/NMC in first few years, front loaded contract with a decent cap. I looked at his injury history and surgeries. None of it looked all that concerning to me. Knees are ok, ACL/MCL ok, lower back ok. Ankle surgery is bad. Probably his main red flag. Groin sounds irritating more than anything. But nothing others don’t go through. None of us really know though, some of the time off is listed as “personal”

As long as he has his walnuts he may be ok
-
I thought it’s his groin that’s been the issue this year?
-
Panarin is Russian, not murican. He’ll last till 33 or 34 too shape. If it’s Karlsson’s groin that’s the issue, then I’m not too worried about it. They don’t end careers for defenders.
-
Imagine if we didn’t keep Lidstrom of Chelios till their 40s. Ryan Suter still plays like he’s 27. Duncan Keith at 35 still puts up big minutes and played all 82 games. Karlsson being 28 year old defender must be an exception to defender longevity.... Erik Karlsson is one of the best defensemen in the NHL and will be for a long time. Mark it.

Panarin and Karlsson are in their primes Dip their bread in, then bust.

Ericsson has to be in the lineup for Karlsson’s sake

In a heart beat. -
I’d do Panarin 10 million 7 years. Karlsson 12 million 7 years (with a deal that Zetterberg, Franzen, Ericsson, Kronwall all stay in town to keep him company) Bertuzzi - Larkin - Panarin Mantha - AA - Zadina Hirose - Nielsen - Svech Rasmussen - Glendigk - Abdel Karlsson - Hronek DK - Cholowski Hicketts - Byram / Ericsson Howard Playoffs next 3 years, Cup in 2022 when Byram becomes a top 5 D man next to Karlsson on top line and Zadina becomes a top 10 winger and explodes into the NHL.

You know when you have DK as your number 1 pair defensemen, your defense sucks.

I don’t think anyone has issues with “hockey politics” but United States politics started getting way too personal last year. Some of us were joking around but some people took it personally. I remember I had to message F. Michael in Pm cause he thought I was being serious with my remarks. We’re good now and he’s a good dude and is a family man, but things like that get out of hand and exactly why we should all steer clear. I’m happy to go to a political forum with some of you guys and talk/vent actual politics, gov, policies etc. It’s fun and not serious to stir the pot when it comes to players like AA vs Larkin etc. (although my god some people even take that s*** personally) But consistently bringing up US politics and personal beliefs to stir the pot and piss off Canadians, or Left Wing or Right Wing etc Americans clearly gets personal. We all (including myself) took it way too far the past and it doesn’t really accomplish anything good around here. All it does it divide fans of the same team.

Don’t get me started.

I’ll have you know the mods and site owner are not running to their safe space or trying to silencing your opinion. They’re simply here to make sure this hockey forum stays on topic and the no-politics rule is followed. It’s an agreement you adhered to when making the account (always read the fine print).

Now if we can only get Jonas to man up and embrace who he is. @Jonas Mahonas are you a master of baiting?

I am. You should take note when you bait with your political comments and passive aggressive ones like below.
