You must not know Steve Yzerman if you think he isn’t already upto speed on our prospects. He’ll speak to Holland etc, but ultimately he’ll do what he thinks is right.

He got promoted technically He says that, but I think he is. He told St Louis to f*** off basically. Same thing for Drouin. I’d say he’s a little more gutsy.

On August 14th, 2014 Kenneth Holland agreed to a 4 year contract extension with the Red Wings. Currently, Kenneth is on the last year of that contract which runs through 2018. In a few months time we shall find out whether or not Mr. Holland is here to stay or not. I expect a contract extension by August. If we don't hear anything, perhaps this is his last year (alternatively they could wait until the end of this season to see how we do). Is he here to stay for the long run?

I agree with you. He’s hits all the check marks but this is also fan service in the sense that it’s going to bring the fans back into it. I’ve gotten multiple texts this morning from friends who stopped watching Red Wings hockey for years that all of a sudden are excited. I like it.

Lots of people called this like 4 years ago when both Yzerman and Holland signed reflective contract extensions. This was the plan all along. He was assistant here went to Tampa and got the experience in Tampa he needed. Usually don’t leave your family here to go work somewhere else if it’s long term. This move is fan service for the most part, but Yzerman is also a good GM so it all works out in the end.
