    2019 Draft

https://theathletic.com/899840/2019/05/01/prospect-moritz-seider-could-be-one-of-the-best-german-defencemen-ever/ Behind a paywall but an interesting article about Seider. Seems like a nice kid with a mature personality. I've come to really like the pick. Only concern I have is the shoulder injuries.

    2019 Draft

I didn't believe it. Did anyone actually look at the hf boards thread?
  3. Holland takes Broberg. I wonder if the Oilers were the other team seriously considering Seider.
  4. I think It's a safe pick at the least, with potential to be a steal. Seems like the kid has a relatively high floor.
  5. Well, I wish we had traded back anyway.
  6. Kings may take Cozens. Turcotte anyone?
  7. He was who I wanted behind Zegras, but that was all under the assumption Byram and Turcotte were already gone.
  8. After he's done finishing up hugging the entire arena, in an hour we may find out who goes second.
  9. Right there with you, I was about to say I'm so sick of hearing him get booed.

    2019 Draft

I'm too lazy to actually listen. Is it just speculation?

    2019 Draft

You're being a bit of a turd ferguson with all the hyperbole, especially when considering he has a few better highlights than that one. Podkolzin isn't my first choice, but I see a lot to like there, and no It's not just because of a highlight reel play he made once.

    2019 Draft

https://theathletic.com/1014192/2019/06/06/live-qa-corey-pronman-on-the-nhl-draft-friday-at-1-p-m-et/ Q&A with Pronman and someone asked him how Broberg and Bouchard compared as prospects. He said Broberg was better. I personally don't take him at 6, but found it interesting anyway. I was pretty high on Bouchard during his draft year. He also thinks Zegras has the highest potential to be a superstar outside of Hughes/Kakko.

    2019 Draft

After watching a bit more footage of him I'm inclined to agree. He's been creeping up my list lately.

Poll: Datsyuk on the team at 41?

https://theathletic.com/996744/2019/06/07/pronman-what-to-expect-by-drafting-forward-vasili-podkolzin/ While Podkolzin may seem like a Russian homebody to some, playing for SKA and not giving firm details on his future, I wouldn’t say that is completely the case. He has a North American agent in Newport. When he was at the World Jr. A Challenge in Bonnyville in December, he talked to me about how he tried to go around the rink talking to the locals in English to try and improve his English language skills. Looks like he's trying to learn anyway.

    2019 Draft

I think Kenny is ready to beat the s*** outta Art Regner. Also, does anyone else think it was stupid to sit Cholowski for the first time in his hometown? I'm still a little annoyed about it.

    "The Russian 5" Documentary

Watched it today with the wife. Both of us really enjoyed it, would highly recommend. Right in the feels.

    2019 Draft

I'd be thrilled if this happened. Not sure he falls that far though.

    2019 Draft

Yeah I'm not too sure on him either, really depends on the day. I've got this feeling that's who we're taking though. Assuming Byram and Turcotte are unavailable, I'm really into Zegras, Dach, and Caufield at the moment. Not too high on Cozens like some of the others.

    2019 Draft

I was thinking this yesterday too after looking at some of the combine results. I'm not sure how much his testing will affect his draft position, but last I checked he was supposed to go somewhere in the middle of the second round. Do you take him early in the second? disclaimer: I know zero things about the guy outside of his apparent physical prowess. Totally with you. IMO he's got the highest chance of becoming an elite talent of all the guys that'll likely be available to us, and like you said I believe he fills a need for us. I'm really back and forth on Podkolzin, I honestly have no idea what to think of him at this point.

2019 Offseason Rebuild Thread, Pt. 2 - What's the Yzerplan?

time for Mantha to change his number.

2019 Offseason Rebuild Thread, Pt. 2 - What's the Yzerplan?

Agreed. Even if I were higher on RNH, I'm not thrilled with the idea of parting with Mantha at this point. Even if he doesn't hit his ceiling he'll still be an absolute force in the top 6 IMO. 6'5'' 225 and finally looks like he's playing his size.
