Janmark and Backman had virtually no value. They were throw ins. -

When everyone is healthy there is no way Marchenko plays over anyone. Nor should he. -

A few days ago but said Cole and Zidlicky both made sense. Hopefully they work out. -

Backman was a long shot to ever play in Detroit and Janmark might end up as a second or third line center in 3 years. Cole helps now and the Wings have plenty of prospects as good or better than the kids they traded. This is a good trade all around. -
He's big and has a bit of scoring touch, but has consistency issues and is rumored to really like partying. Vancouver looks like they're out of patience with him, maybe they'd move him for Kindl and a low pick. He probably wouldn't do a ton here either but his contract is shorter and cheaper so they could just waive him without much penalty next year if need be and Kindl needs to be gone anyway. I wouldn't do anything else though, except maybe Weiss straight up.

It sounds exactly like you think it hasn't been addressed. Generally, when someone says "I think this needs to be discussed" it means it's something that hasn't been discussed to that point. Regardless, blown leads happen, they happened to the "old" Wings teams too, and those teams had a habit of starting slow because they knew that they had the firepower to turn it on and flip a switch at any point and rattle off 3 goals in 10 minutes. It's nothing new, and if it's happening more, then it's because with a salary cap there's not as much space between the top tams and the bottom feeders. It used to be there were always one or two teams that were basically AHL teams because they wouldn't/couldn't pay any decent NHL vets, now pretty much every team has at least one good line.

You should send them all e-mails. I don't think they've thought about it at all. I bet Babcock just shrugs and says "well, we won, who cares if it was a little sloppy and we gave up 3 straight goals. No biggie."

Ever try Maple Leafs Tea? It costs a fortune, but doesn't come with a Cup.

Zetterberg leaves after 2nd Period; "upper body injury"
DickieDunn replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
A Franzen thread? As in one? Probably a few more than that. Regardless, I didn't think what Benn did was a big deal, the same type of thing happened all the time in the rec leagues I played in. It just happened to have a worse than normal result. -
The price was always going to be high to get Yandle. The fact that he hasn't been traded after how many years of the rumors tells me that he is available but hasn't been actively shopped and/or the asking price is astronomical.

He can sill be a dick, he's just a dick that gave a hospital some money.

I don't get the Petry love. Is it just because he's right handed hand his dad played for the '84 Tigers? Because he's not that good.

A goon wouldn't have been on the ice then anyway. You don't put a guy who can't do anything but punch against the other team's best players. -

Ericsson stepped up to Benn, the official was right there. Was he supposed to shove him aside to dispense some frontier justice, nullify the PP, and probably get a game misconduct and extra 2 minutes on top of it? -
2/21 GDT : Red Wings 7 at Dallas Stars 6 (OT)
DickieDunn replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I heard there was a lot of this -
Petry is hurt, is worse than anyone we have with the possible exception of Kindl who is the #7, and is a pure rental unless he wants to be the 7 here next season. Gazdic would be in the press box in the playoffs, and would probably spend most regular season games there too. From the Oilers perspective you get a guy the Wings recently demoted a serviceable 4th liner, and a guy who's might be a serviceable 4th liner. There is no reason for either team to do that.

Wings roster still shows Jurco, GR roster doesn't, and there's nothing anywhere that they sent him down. Gave just messed up.
-
He's an enthusiastic color guy who sounds like he's had a few.
-
The national media has been calling the Wings decline since after they choked in 96.

Careful now, can't say anything bad about Mickey or you're a hater who doesn't know anything and is just speculating and you better list 50 examples in detail of why you think the way you do.

Kindl out for a rookie. Cleary out. Pulkinnen in. Gustavsson out for Mrazek. Andersson maybe out. Anyone wanting a lot of changes is going to be disappointed.
-
They have more value because they're proven players. That doesn't mean they should be traded instead of a prospect.Production in the minors doesn't guarantee production in the NHL. Who is "we?" I haven't been longing for a rh sniper.
-
Why would you rather give up a young proven top 6 winger instead of a kid who might be a top 6 winger someday? Both Tatar and Nyquist are far more dynamic than Pulkinnen.
-
Andersson is a reserve forward. It makes sense to keep the center instead of a winger for that. So Andersson for Callahan makes sense. Jurco started as a scoring line forward not as a fourth line banger. He played his way into his current role.

Anyone who knows anything about hockey knew that as long as they were relatively healthy and the kids didn't all take steps back that they would be in line for the playoffs.
