Normally I don't advocate nailing another dude in the pills, but Malkin deserves it. -

That Goose wasn't anyone's wingman (except in the bar when Mav tried picking up Charlie). He was a RIO- Radar Intercept Officer. -
Kassian is a meathead. Do not want.

Trade Legwand to Detroit for Eaves, Jarnkrok + cond 3rd/2nd

Weber and Rinne are the faces of the team. -
Kindl and Smith were both projected to be top 4 guys. They were given the chance to do that instead of signing a stop gap. You either want kids to have opportunity or you don't, simple as that.
-
So in other words you don't want young players to be given a chance. Or is it just no young D? Or do you just want to play captain hindsight and pick and choose who was OK to let take a bigger role later in the season?
-
They wanted younger guys to step up. They haven't. People complain about the Wings not giving kids a shot, then complain when they do.
-
Bozak should get an Oscar nom for that
-
Just this in: Nyquist is good at the hockey
-
54 hits 26 games
-
Jurco will be the young power forward. If he's up full time playing on a scoring line next year hell score 25 goals and be in the top 3 in hits.
-
Who's better? List them all. I'll start. Suter, Weber, Pietrangelo, Chara, Doughty, Keith.
-
Dekeyser still makes a lot of mistakes. When he continues to make the same mistakes next year, although probably not as often, people will start ragging on him because he isn't new and shiny anymore. When Ouellet and Sproul and Marchenko are called up, they will get a similar grace period before people start saying that they're terrible. It's just what fans do. The new and unknown is always better than what they've already seen.
-
Unless he either wants to leave Pittsburgh or wants a ridiculous amount of money, I can't see the Pens not re-signing him.
-
I don't think he's ready, nor is he going to be a top pairing guy. I see him more as a #3.
-
Even at $68 mil the Wings can add plenty. Kindl traded in a package for a top pairing D if they can find one, and sign Legwand to around $4 mil and Alfredsson or another forward for $4 mil. Tossing the $2 mil that they'll have carried over from Alfredsson's bonus, they'll have over $5 mil to add a backup goalie and a D-man. Red Wings have Recalled Pulkkinen from Grand Rapids
DickieDunn replied to Datsyukian-Deke's topic in General
Jurco is bigger faster and other than his shot he has better hand than Pulk. I don't see him as a 3rd liner. -
The Grifs are pretty good. They're currently sitting just out of the wild card spot in the NHL playoffs.
-
TEN! TEN RED WINGS OUT OF THE LINEUP! AH AH AH AH!!!!
-
Lundquist and probably Rinne are the only goalies I'd consider elite right now. There are a lot of other younger guys who might get there, or they might start showing their warts like Fleury has. Based on both pay and performance, Howard is in that 8-15 range. He has enough talent to be better, but he seems to be missing that mental edge that Osgood had, and he gets obviously rattled at times.
-
Weber isn't going anywhere unless he asks for a trade. It would probably take a crap ton of the best prospects and young players along with a couple high draft picks. 2 of Jurco, Tatar, Nyquisst, Jurco, Mantha, and Sproul, for sure. Ouellet, Pulk, Marchenko, et. al. are secondary prospects and would be included to sweeten the pot. Even then Holmgren would probably trade an entire draft's worth of picks and 3 ro 4 top prospects, if the Flyers have any left. Because he's "ballsy" like that.
-
Ericsson should be a #3. So should Dekeyesr for now. By the end of camp next year Dekeyser might be a #2. Smith could develop into a #4 by that time, too. That would leave Kindl and a rookie as the 3rd pair and Lashoff as the #7. People say that they want to give the kids a chance to develop and earn their spots, then that's the route the Wings should take.
