WAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! No TRADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! LEGWAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The crying around here is out of hand. No other good centers were moved, as long as they didn't give up too much (conditional picks) this is a good move. -
He did get Legwand
-
I wasn't thrilled with any of the available D, especially not for the reported asking prices. I'm not surprised no D. Legwand wouldn't be here without the injuries and confirms that there is a definite push to make the playoffs. Of the rentals who were moved, he's probably the easiest for the Wings to extend.

Diaz is a rental

Making a move just so you can say you made a move is moronic. If it doesn't actually help, don't do it.

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

Ya think so, huh? So why are they trading all these guys who don't like Torts instead of firing him. -
Because there's no future for him here? Or did I miss the sarcasm font?

Dekeyser, Sproul, Ouellet, Marchenko, Backman, and Jensen

No. Hemsky has no long term use in Detroit. No rentals.

Lightning Trade St. Louis to Rangers for Callahan + picks
DickieDunn replied to TheDetroitRedWings's topic in General
He also has to pay Callahan like a 30 goal guy. -
The Canucks want a center, the Wings don't have one to give up. Kesler is out. They're talking with Buffalo about Ehrhoff. Edler is a possibility. Other than that, what non-rentals are known to be available who will help the Wings?

If they could get him for a 3rd rounder or something, yes. A good prospect? Nope. -
Holland is in a tough situation. If he gets the OK form upstairs to sell off, he's going to piss off a big chunk of the fan base and he's probably not going to get much for the guy's he'd be trading. With all the injuries, they're in a tough spot unless Datsuik is going to come back soon, so not making a trade will compromise their chances of making the playoffs. At the same time, trading assets for a guy who might not be here next year just to make the playoffs is counterproductive to the stated plan of using the draft to rebuild on the fly, and adding a rental doesn't guarantee anything. It doesn't matter what he does unless he can get in on Kesler or another good player who isn't a rental, it's not going to be a great option.

Exact quote. Tell me how I'm taking it out of context. You don't know, but you're acting like you do know he needs it. It's possible to have an injury that doesn't require surgery but needs extended rest to get better. -
Howe was the best all around player ever, so no, Lidstrom isn't the greatest Wing ever.

Oh, well as long as you FEEL that he needs surgery, by all means they should schedule it ASAP. Babcock has been sitting Cleary every game for quite awhile now. Once he runs out of other bodies that might change out of necessity. Samuelsson is "hurt" again so that's not an option. -
Subban is black, has an NBA attitude. Ovenchicken is white and Russian, he has a soccer attitude.

2 of those 3 guys are already sitting. I also don't know what's wrong with Datsyuk's knee, and unless you're on the Wings' medical staff or know someone who is, I doubt you do either, so know the hell knows if it's an injury that needs surgery. I think that if they call up Jarnkrok and/or make a move to bring in someone, they'll be able to hold onto the playoff spot, which I think is the mandate from ownership. Hell, even shifting Mule over to center could be enough if Datyuk is going to be back in a few games. -
Belle Tire Kicking Place

It's a borderline playoff team with half of the projected top 3 lines out.

They need a center who can do something offensively, I'd rather see Jarnkrok. -
No rentals. And the book on him is all over the place. Some people think that he's a legit #2, other's say he's a legit #5 on a good team.
-
A little more than a gas station condom. He's not horrible but he's not great.

I've seen people all over on how good MacDonald is. Some point to what he's done and say he's a good #2. Others say he's a good #5 on a good team.
