We don't know if Krazy Kenny is done yet or not, so it's hard to say. Zetterberg, Larkin, AA, Tatar, Nyquist, Nielsen, Abdelkader, Helm, Glendening, Nielsen, Witkowski, Mantha, Sheahan are probably the forwards. That leaves one spot either one the 4th line or as a reserve. That probably means Svechnikov is in GR. Wouldn't surprise me to see Bertuzzi down there too and a guy like Lorito or Street or some random cheap vet as the 14th forward. Kronwall, Ericsson, Dekeyser, Green, Daley plus 2 of XO, Jensen and Sproul are the D. So in other words, take the team that missed the playoffs, subtract Vanek, Nosek, and one of the younger D and add Witkowski and Daley. Impressive job of treading water by HOlland.

I think you're over rating AA. I think he's going to be a decent player but you're acting like he's some kind of future star. Would a one year deal take Tatar to UFA status?

McDavid taking $750k less a year has zero implication on the cap, which means it has zero implication on future earning power of other players. The NHL finding a way to become more than a niche sport and increasing revenue has an impact on the cap, therefore how much potential earning power players have. comparing the NHL to any other sport is an apples and oranges comparison. The NBA, MLB, and NFL all bring in more revenue. The NBA has smaller rosters and difference cap rules enabling the players to make ridiculous salaries even compared to the other sports, making an NHL to NBA comparison more like apples to boulders.
