Wow man. He's even producing like a fourth liner in the AHL, Hahaha. Has he been playing with decent line mates? Or is he on a veteran bottom 6 line getting minuscule ice time or something?
-
Hahaha. I was so confused when I seen that. I should've started the gdt when I didn't see it up earlier, but I was away from the interwebs. What a game though!
-
Wait what?Ha. Its been a long day, what did i do now? Also. Amazing the first game miller is out we give up three pp goals. And it was amazing we pulled out the win. I hope Jurco starts gaining some confidence and gets it going, he does not seem right.

Hahaha. Very well played. And is that Brett Lebda on the bench?

I don't think You have to worry about seeing AA on the fourth line, not when Jurcos penciled into the lineup.Cally would be a decent choice, but I don't remember how the waiver thing works. Would he have to be here for ten games before he'd have to clear waivers, or would he have to as soon as we sent him down no matter how much he played? Regardless, I think its a safer bet to assume they'll call someone up who can be sent up and down without waivers, which is the only reason I think AA gets the call again. Bertuzzi doesn't really deserve a call up at this point, but I think Tangradi would go unclaimed if it came down to it. Maybe well see Mantha, I know he's not exactly lighting up the score sheet, but by all accounts he's been one of the best players down there. And I would like to see what he could do in the NHL, give him a taste of regular season NHL hockey. Maybe he'll surprise us and be a better player here than he is in the A. -
What's going on with today's gdt?

basically every rapper back in the day was rumored to be a part of the bloods/crips but pac wore a lot of blue, and if he was in the bloods he wouldn't be rockin the colors if their rival gang.I wouldn't be shocked if he was in one of the gangs, but It doesn't seem true.

I think aa will get the call again. -
He actually was known for his fighting when he was younger, and I said he was physical, because he is, just that I wish he would do it more often. But around and behind our net and in the corners he's one of our most physical d men. Also, people aren't going to not take runs at star players just because tootoos on the ice. Ha. That whole deterrent thing simply because a fighter is out there isn't true anymore. Even back in the day, people would still run at high end players knowing they were gonna get beat up by bodyguards on skates. It didn't deter anything, they just had to be ready to fight after which is the same thing that happens today(even on the red wings) if e is out there he's not going to sit back after someone made a bad hit, or someone's going after one of our skilled players.

Jack black looks like a live action version of a Tim Burton character. I second removing Chad Kroeger (aka spaghetti-mop, although i think his hair looks more like ramen noodles) from the list of recognized red wings fans.

I wonder if this is when dylark will start to get serious pk time like blash was talking about before now that silver fox is out for an extended period of time.A forward pk tandem of helm and Larkin could be dangerous. Also, has anyone heard how drews surgery went? And Glendenning will become the primary shot blocker up front, with big rig holding it down behind him. -

Also are they going to call someone up or are they expecting miller back soon? They only have 12 forwards up right now, right? Or am I missing someone? -
Ha. I would say its his inner swede keeping him from man handling people, but he bought into the red wing way. And we all know how often the red wings way calls for fighting. His fighting capability really is epic though, I'm not all about the "truculence," but he looks like he was meant to rag doll people... IMO he's a very underrated d man around here, but I do wish he would be more physical more often. (He has seemed to pick it up this year, but he could be better) I wonder how healthy he is/isn't. Hip problems would suck as a pro hockey player. And Tootoo has quite a good fights/tkos under his belt, which is crazy considering his size. I'm glad he's seemingly found a place in Jersey, he's not a bad hockey player, he's actually a very good fourth liner... and they were using him all the way up on the 1st line last year, like the way we use Justin rambleskater. Edit: also, after that hit from behind Nolan laid on helm, Ericsson sent him flying seemingly effortlessly... Could you imagine if Tootoo has Ericssons size and strength?!?!? That'd be an amazing violent human being. Ha.
-
Ha. Dude.Ericsson is like 6'5 250 and can throw some pretty fierce punches, His size alone is intimidating. He may not be the truculence that deters people from taking liberties with the team, but he sure as sh** is more physically intimidating than jordin tootoo is.

The guitarist and pianist for Chiodos, and one of the drummers for the sound of animals fighting are/were red wings fans. Also the bassist in the blood brothers wore a red wings jersey at a show at the magic stick a few years back. And come on kickazz. Hanks wife doesn't count, but the eye candy never hurts. Also, calling anyone from nickelback a "musician" is being very liberal with the word.

Its the old spice commercial, right? And honestly, I didn't realize I wasn't posting in the Jurco thread. So. Thanks for the reminder. And Eighteen MySpace scene points if you forgive me for continuing the conversation in this thread. And for continuation. Does miller being out mean Andy's automatically in the lineup? And if we call Callahan up, well still have to expose him to waivers before sending him back down right? -

that's not always the case. more than once our coaches have broken up lines that were going well to try to get one player specifically going. I cant recall blash saying anything like this this year, but babs did it/said it many times.and I know babs and blash are two different entities completely but the principle is still the same.I know Richards is a proven winner, and just came off winning a cup, but getting Richards back to a 40 point center now i think is less important than getting jurco going (to hopefully score 30 this season) Richards is going to be gone, we have Larkin we can slot into the 2nd line center position and I'm hoping sheahan is just having an off season, but he's awesome defensively and chipping in 30-40 points while playing shutdown d is a good 2nd line c. Jurco should be in the plans for the team past this season, he's big, fast, and skilled and those players come up big in the playoffs. Getting him going gives us more depth this year and for future, Richards is playing well enough, he's just snake bitten, and he's a smart player. We don't need to shake things up around him to get him going, he can do that on his own. And jurco with confidence definitely created his own chances, his speed and hands in tight are good enough that we just need him to have some semblance of confidence to carry the puck. Lately he's been treating the puck like its a hand grenade. He's versatile enough that we could use him in pretty much anyway, but he's not experienced enough to bounce back and forth and immediately produce results with only a game or less time to adjust. I wish we could get them both scoring, but if they both go on a tear we could be serious contenders. And Sheahan nyquist and tats have been Good, but Nyquist can do his thing pretty much anywhere(aside from the fourth line) moving him up in the lineup doesn't take away from him carrying his own line, just ups the difficulty a bit. were used to seeing/hearing square pegs put into round holes, but putting a skilled guy in a checking role seems more egregious. Its not a bad problem to have, but it comes with the territory when we have this much depth. Like I said, I just hope he takes advantage of the players we have out being out so the problem will sort itself out. -

That's the thing though, I don't know if blash is expecting him to produce or to be a good grinder but then either the expectations are too low, or too high expecting him to produce with Glendenning and miller. It doesn't make sense. Hopefully, he does something good and he gets to stay in the top 9, but I don't trust Blashills plan for him Cuz it doesn't seem like he's getting a fair shake. -

His first season up when we were decimated with injuries he spent the majority of his time with sheahan and Tatar, and they were a dominant third line. They kept the opposing team hemmed in their own zone the majority of the time and they were being praised left and right, then the playoffs rolled around and babs broke them up and didn't try them back together once despite us struggling. I was praying they'd keep those three together because the chemistry they had was unreal, and they really haven't been back together since. I don't know what's up. I guess the best we can hope for is during the time that pulks/miller is out Jurco plays too good for them to scratch him again. -
