Wings hire new S&C Coach Mike Kadar
jimmyemeryhunter replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Ha.He was looking like a squirrel packing all the nuts he could possibly fit in his mouf, and they just let him stay in the locker room spreading it around to the other players, members of the media, other teams. I'm genuinely nervous over this hire. I hate it. -
Sharp & Johns to DAL for Daley and Garbut
jimmyemeryhunter replied to WingsAlways's topic in General
I don't think Sharp has too much left in the tank, but he's still a somewhat decent 3rd liner. I actually really like Stephen Johns, he seemed to have taken a very large step in his development last year... Daley and garbut but are decent enough, but the moved doesn't seem to make much sense with the small amount of cap savings this affords them. I don't think they got fleeced, necessarily because Sharp is not really a top six guy anymore... Seems like a hockey trade to me. -
Signed Gustav Nyquist signed 4-Year Deal $4.75 mill AAV
jimmyemeryhunter replied to e_prime's topic in General
How is 4.25 for the next five years a "horrible, Unmovable contract" because he's 31. We all know Ericsson didn't play like a top pair defenseman last year, but the year before that he was playing very well, so much So that people were talking about how important Ericsson is to the team when he went down with an injury a couple years back... He is a good top four dman, and yes serviceable on the top pair, not very good, But serviceable. And he clears the front of the net better than any of our other d, he plays 20+ minutes a night, and for those of you who complain there's not enough fighting, he is our best fighter and the one who's fastest to stick up for teammates. He makes some bad plays, he could make one bad play in ten games and be completely solid the rest of the time and there would still be people complaining about that one bad play, extrapolating it into worse and worse things... I get that there has to be a scapegoat so everyone can vent their frustration, and since Quincey was one of our better d last year, and kindl barely played, so it all reverts to Ericsson. Who didn't even get to fully prepare for the season because his hand/finger injury to the point he could barely grip a hockey stick. Its maddening how fickle some of us fans can be. -
And the Arizona Coyotes signed john Scott to a one year deal. I doubt either of these signings are anything more than AHL depth signings, and one or both of them will probably end up being waiver fodder. At least the preseason has the potential to be more entertaining than usual, the odds of pointless staged fights occurring has risen dramatically with these two signings alone.

Over/Under for Larkin's time as a Red Wing in 15/16
jimmyemeryhunter replied to wings4thecup06's topic in General
I've never seen aa described as a defensive forward. He played on the penalty kill in juniors because he's fast, but most of the reviews I've read have said he has a ways to go on the defensive side of things, which goes along with what you see watching him... He's getting better, and he's also getting a bit better at using his linemates, he back checks hard, but I wouldn't say he's defensive... He'll get there though, I've been really high on him for awhile now. -

Ha. Penguins always have some of the most man games lost to injuries, so let's hope that doesn't come with him. Not thrilled with this hire. -
Things you would like to see for 2015-16 Season
jimmyemeryhunter replied to sjr2012's topic in General
They don't have much left to prove, but theyre not better options than we have now, thats the problem.Yes kindl should be gone, but he still has some potential too, and he actually showed he can be a top four d man, albeit for the lockout shortened season, but still. And Ericsson is not suited for our top pair, I agree with that, but he is still a top four d man, and you don't move that for a bottom pairing guy. There will be injuries, and they'll get their shot, and hopefully when they do, they'll grab ahold if it and run with it... Then next season one of them will be the seventh guy while waiting for his chance...its how the wings tend to do things, we've seen it at forward with Gus and tats, and I don't see it changing just because its defense and not forwards. And no arguments about Quincey, he was good last year, but hell be gone next season. He was one of our steadiest d men last year, which could be just because he was with Deke, which is fine. -
Preliminary Red Wings Training Camp Roster

Where is he supposed to be playing next season? -
Yeah, but what no one has mentioned is Tatar only had one season of 27+ goals, and nyquist has two. Nyquist has proved more consistent, so he deserves to ask for more since Tatar signed his deal after only one good season. Why has no one said this over and over in this thread? I feel like I'm in the twilight zone.

Tangradis corsi for and impact on linemates is pretty damn good. But those stats also paint kindl as a top pairing d man. -

Ha.Fair enough. He'd been tearing up the league and he was constantly mentioned because of his undrafted to number one c story, I had assumed he was a household name. I wasn't being facetious, by the way, I was generally intrigued by you not knowing him. He was on sportscenter, so he must be known. Hahaha. Saying it twice doesn't make it magically happen.Three times, however.
