    Thoughts from the Penguin's Nest

Against a weaker team perhaps Staal's goal could have been a series turning point. But this Detroit team while it may not be the physically strongest in the league sure is the most MENTALLY STRONG one. That said I firmly believe we're gonna have to pummel them into the ground to win the Cup in 6, unlike last year. They won't go away in their barn 2 years in a row quietly but IMO the Wings just did a number on them tonight which may have broken their backs.

Eklund at it again about Hossa and draft day

The Toronto Sun said today a deal IS in place to be signed after the playoffs for 7 years averaging at LESS than $6 million per season. We're probably looking at a $40-45 million deal for 7 years. If we can keep Hossa and Hudler while seeing Sami walk it would be a success I think.

    Promise me this Wings Fans

In other news.... Malkin didn't stick around to speak to the press after yesterday's loss and his non suspension. Wuss. Crosby wasn't made available to the media today, which for me isn't really a problem because I'm tired of hearing him and seeing his mug on every commercial to be honest, but given how they've been shoving him down our throats for 3 seasons now, again a wussy move. The Pens seem like a bunch of prima donna pansies to be honest.

    DUCK'S BLOG

Oh God can you imagine how Crosby and co would cry at what the Ducks do compared to the Wings? Part of me would have loved to see that in itself.

    Same thing this time around. Some gems from their HF boards forum;

    Pens Boards, (merged)

They can cry all they want. We're talking about a team with 3-4 good players MAX and a bunch of plumbers and journeymen. They've believed their own press clipping and I hope they eat defeat AGAIN very soon. Maybe then they'll have some humility the arrogant twats who haven't won jack s*** and still act as if they're Gods gift to hockey. I'd like to see where they'd be without BS lottery picks. Where would they be if they've had to draft in the position Detroit has had to for the last 15 years I wonder. But it all emanates from the whiner Lemieux, and has carried on to Crysby. And the gaul to proclaim themselves the 'new Oilers'.

Holland dissappointed with the revised schedule

The Wings are hurting and the league knows it. This is the most blatant attempt to afford an advantage to the Penguins yet by the league. Its funny because if the Wings had lost last game and the Chicago series went to 6 or 7, they would have had 5-7 days rest. WTF? But for all my rage this playoffs with how Detroit's been getting shafted with calls and non calls etc, the Wings just keep winning. They're on a mission.

x2 for this too. I thought the Penguins got extremely generous calls (boarding on Draper, Lilja's stick being slashed and broken out of his hand on an existing Penguins PP are two that come to mind).

    Blackhawks' Brian Campbell: "Gutless"

Someone should tell that ginger Campbell that he sucks no matter what he's getting paid and that Scotty and Chicago as a whole wish he wasn't there.

    PANIC!

Team was sloppy and didn't impose its will yesterday like it did early in the 3 games they won. Anyone notice alot of blown tires and skipping pucks yesterday? No excuse for sure but the ice was terrible and not helpful to Detroit game. It looked much more suited to the Ducks muck game. Should be better at the Joe. This series reminds me alot of the Colorado '02 one. Here's hoping it ends the same way.

    Wings RBK Jersey from China

Fair enough. Jack quoted me $100 USD for a Lidstrom winter classic and a red Ovechkin which amounts to $50 per jersey incl shipping. That's about $40 less than dhgate. I was wondering if he had a website though (I'm waiting on a replay on this but if anyone who sees this knows it please share).

WCSF GAME 6 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Ducks 2

He's gonna have to because 2/3 of Anaheim's top line is hurt, and guys like Christiansen and Miller are not finishers. Selanne is going to have to step up huge the the Ducks. But IMO the Wings know how to break them down and score in Hiller. 4-2 Detroit.

    Wings RBK Jersey from China

What are you guys paying for shipping fron DHgate.com? The 2 jersey's together that I want from one seller are alittle over $70.00 and the damned shipping is MORE than the jerseys. It comes to $140.00 which is 2 jersey's for what I'd pay for one here, but that's pretty steep shipping. I noticed alot of people were kind enough to post photos and details but not how much they paid+shipping.

    Why the Ducks are losing..

If the NHL was a street fight, then the Wings would go out and assemble the best talent required for it. Such is the nature of this organization. Until then Anaheim is up the creek sans paddle.

    Grind Line's future

Maltby is just ineffective out there. He doesn't make mistakes, but he is not really noticeable, which for the grind line isn' t too good since their supposed to make some hits and energize the crowd/team. I'm thinking after his current contract is done he will retire. Either that or he really does some off season physical conditioning to bring him up a notch. Either way, as been mentioned the guy's EARNED his spot and should play for Detroit as long as he wants to/his contract allows. Love the guy, but he's just not into it too much anymore. D-Mac should still be allowed to stay with the Griffins and the Red Wing organization. In his prime he was a great physical specimen and can bring that no-how to the younger lads. Draper's still got it. If and when he losses his wheels he'll call it quits on his own I'm sure. But he's still great in the dot and has the wheels. Between him and Helm that's a hella fast line.

    Rafalski prediction

Whatever it is once again against Anaheim we've run into injury trouble on the blueline. I don't think Rafi will be back in this series even if it goes 7.

NHL responds to waved-off goal in Game 3

They're gonna protect that co** sucker for sure. I'dda smashed his face with my composite if I was on the ice. And it would have been worth the jail time too.

    Reviewability of the calls?

Understand this. What happend there cannot be undone by some stupid power plays in game 4. Can't.
