Eklund Rumor: Cujo back to Detroit?

Sorry, but Eklund is a pure jackass here. IMO, this rumor is complete BS. After we sign Osgood, and have Manny our back-up(which keep in mind, Manny is making 1.2M or something like that) and you know CuJo would be asking for wayy too much. As much as I like him, now that we got Osgood, and since we most likely won't be getting rid of Legace, I don't want him on our team. Best of luck to you(elsewhere) Joseph!

Nice deke, but that was priceless what the goalie did to him after...

    Wings and Brad Bombardir

Pass on Bombardir. Even for 1M, no thanks. The only one that caught my eye was Simpson. Although it isn't likely he will be signed, I'm still crossing my fingers and hoping Kenny would really sign this guy.

    Bertuzzi wants out of Vancouver?

I'd love to see Bertuzzi in a Wings jersey, but like it has already been mentioned, they aren't that dumb. It would cost us quite a few players to bring him here, but *if* it did end up happening, I think it'd help us (or partly) on the lack of grit we have. And also, I too have heard the rumors floating around about Naslund possibly landing in Anaheim. Man, I sure hope that doesn't happen..

Detroit Pistons (and NBA) Playoff Thread

Oh, no doubt. The Pistons did a lot of things this past playoff run that not a lot of people expected. We gave it our all and now it's just time to make some minor adjustments and try for it again next year.

Dammit...sorry to be negative, but the Spurs played a great game today. When they needed to start sinking shots at the end of the game, they got it. Duncan stepped it up and played remarkably. I'm sad to see the Pistons couldn't do it, but I guess that's the way it goes. Anyone think Larry Brown will be back next season? I don't think he will be... One of our problems were was we ran into some *serious* foul trouble early on in the game, and 'Sheed nor Chauncy could make anything. That was not going as planned. Big Ben played pretty well, but obviously one guy can't carry the entire team, especially at high stakes like this. Oh well, better luck next year Pistons. It was a very, very entertaining series to say the least, and just an all-around very nice season/playoff run! Edit: Oh, and I'm not saying that I am glad the Spurs one, but hey dallas27, it looks like JohnO was right. Now what are you going to have to say to him? Afterall, you said after the Pistons win, he wouldn't be able to post on this board about the Pistons anymore...so, now what's going to happen?

Jesus Christ, it seems like the Spurs are hitting everything now. Got to give them credit though - they are playing some good ball. Let's Go Pistons...

Well, GWG, since it seems as if you are asking for a nice plate of crow before the game is on, I found one for you. Not sure if it's the one you are looking for, but it's a good size one! Interesting.

If I were the Spurs, I'd be a bit concerned because the Pistons have been in positions where they were down then came back and won the series. They also have been known for doing the unexpected. For instance, noone thought they could beat the Heat, let alone come back and beat them two straight against them - one being a game 7 IN Miami. Then last year noone expect the Pistons to defeat the Lakers and guess what? They did. The Pistons are going to come out all fired up and ready to go. The Spurs better be ready as well. I believe that we will win the series, however it is going to be a very, very close game. Sheed is going to come out and play strong the *entire* game. Can't wait for tomorrow's game!! Should be a dandy! LET'S GO PISTONS!! Oh, and one more thing...Dallas27, just curious why you say after the Pistons win tomorrow why wouldn't JOhnO be able to post about the Pistons anymore? Is it because he has a different opinion than most of us? That he doesn't think the Pistons can pull it off? If you read his posts, he says he'd love to see the Pistons win it, but his gut feeling is that Detroit can't take two in a row in SA. Besides, that's the way he is --he always says we're doomed(not just the Pistons on Wings gamedays too)...so just let it be. I'm sure if the Pistons do pull it out, he'll be just as glad..

Did he really? I was watching all the post-gave interviews and such on FSN and I didn't hear him make a guarantee. If he did, I'm a bit nervous that he'd do that when the series could go either way, but also he's what, 3-3 on when he makes a guarantee? So, that's a good thing to know. Well, I guess we'll have to wait 'til Thursday to see who wants it more. LET'S GO PISTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea, it was right after the game at an on-court interview. He said "San Antonio had all there Crystal ready to pop tonight, but we'll poppin it on Thursday" Hmm, weird. I must've missed that. I guess both teams are sort of making a guarantee because when Duncan was getting interviewd, it seemed to me as if he was saying they were going to win by this statement: "Well, it seems like we weren't able to get it done tonight, guess we'll have to go back Thursday and do a little cleaning up." Take what you want from it, but it sounds to me as if he's guaranteeing a win as well.

Watch, GWG will come in this thread and make a bundle of excuses. "Oh, if Tim Duncan could actually make a free throw, the Spurs would be champions now and there would be no game 7" or some stupid s**t like that. No time for excuses! Just face the fact that the Pistons beat the Spurs and forced a game 7. It now comes down to who wants it more, IMO. LET'S GO DETROIT!!!!

*** yeah Detroit and way to go 'Sheed to keep your emotions to a minimum with 5 fouls. Way to step it up in the 4th quarter as well, 'Sheed!! That was great to see him step it up, we needed it. Rip also was playing great ball the entire game. Although the refs weren't great, I'm just glad the Pistons came out on top. Well, all I have to say was it was a very intense game..glad the Pistons won, and see ya back in San Antonio for game 7!! Hopefully Rip, Sheed, etc can all step it up again to try and win it in San Antonio. It should be interesting, because the last time the finals went to a game 7 was back in '94. The Pistons could make some history if they win game 7!!! Way to go Detroit!

For the little bit I've seen of the first half, I thought the Pistons have been playing great! Big Ben hitting that big fade-away near the end of the half was amazing. Then you had Chauncy making a shot with like 2 seconds left on the shot clock. Sheed's been hittin' his 3-pointers, which is good and we're really making it hard for Ginobili to get in the lane. That last play with Ginobili, that definitely should've been a foul on him. LB, Sheed, Big Ben, and everyone on the Pistons' bench was in rage at that call. Other than that, from what I've seen (had to work until 10), they seem to be playing great! Hopefully they can keep it up!! LET'S GO PISTONS!!!!!!!!!! Edit: Off topic, but hey, what the hell -- happy birthday, MattCorpolongo!

Agreed! Anyway, I'm going to miss the first few minutes of the game because I have to work, but that's no problem. It'll only be a few minutes. Hopefully the Pistons will come out playing just as good as they did the other night and just everyone play as a team...then win! You know San Antonio is going to come out and try and match their intensity level this time because last time they weren't really what was going to happen. LET'S GO PISTONS!!!!!!!

Great game overall by the Pistons! Big Ben played fantastic and I was very happy to see that. You know he was bound to break out sometime soon and destroy his opponents. Rip and 'Sheed were great as well. All in all, a pretty entertaining, but physical game (that could be expected though). Hopefully Detroit can keep it up and play more good ball. I was pleased to see Ginobili not that big of a factor in this game. Hopefully Detroit can keep up the very solid defense the next few games, because they're going to need more games like this. WAY TO GO DETROIT! KEEP IT UP!!!!!

Not really surprised, there was a report saying that Ginobili just put some ice on it and he's back. THat's good for the Spurs.

Wow, that definitely will not be good for San Antonio if Ginobili is injured seriously. I liked the early turnover Big Ben caused and the nice slam to finish it off. C'mon Pistons!! Let's Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, tonight is the game to see if the Pistons can still win it, or not. I believe if they go down 3-0, they're done. Period. Rip and Tayshaun HAVE to start makin shots more. 'Sheed is also going to have to be a huge factor in the game! I think finally playing back at home however will help them a bit. Let's go Pistons!!! Oh, and one quick question - anyone know when the game starts? Thanks!

Detroit Pistons (and NBA) Playoff Thread

Nice!!!! Just a quick question though - why wouldn't you go, JohnO? The Pistons have got their hands full the next few games...and I'm pretty nervous about that. Edit: Tayshaun and Rip have definitely got to start shooting better from the field. Hopefully we start getting calls our way instead of any time Ginobli or Duncan drive the lane we got a foul. 'Sheed also is going to have to be a huge factor in these next few games if we want to stand a chance.
