If Babcock stays Blash is probably out of here. If he is I would love for him to go to Edmonton and get those young players to play to their true potential. Imagine of a player like Hall would've been in the Detroit system. He would be responsible yet an offensive firepower

For the type of player he is Smith really shouldnt have the most penalty minutes. I could understand maybe abdelkader or glendening cause they're in choppier situations buy I guess we aren't exactly a play on the edge team

It also could be the fight within the NHL between keeping the rugged enforcer days of the past (maybe not so long ago) and the skill, speed, and finesse game the red wings play and what could be the future of the game. If the league punishes for roughing up a "weak" team and they'll send a message about the future of the game. -

This argument is exactly the same as about Mrazek. Both are very successful in the AHL but, depending on who is posting, need to develop further on the AHL or be given a chance to learn the NHL game by having as much time as possible on the Wings
