Exactly. You don't trade the younger goalie when one has to go, especially if he's just as good or better as the other already, and has tons of potential to be way better. Howard has topped out, Mrazek hasn't. Like ANA with Andersen/Gibson, STL with Elliott/Allen. TB and PIT have decisions on which goalie to keep for the upcoming expansion draft. Bishop or Vasilevsky and Fleury or Murray. My guess is they both go with the younger guy.

Not dismissing him, but Chych is obv much closer to NHL ready than him. Already in the NHL, just not playing every night. Plays a good two way game already, big kid who loves to hit. Something the Wings sorely needed. Cholowski is more offence oriented and needs work on defence and major gym time and he's in college, so he's not coming anytime soon. He'll probly end up as the typical Wings player. More offensive minded and shy's away from the rough stuff.

Chychrun plays a more complete game, hits everything in sight. He's already the size of guys years older than him. 23 PIM in 16 games shows he's willing to get into the battles out there. Might not be completely NHL ready yet, but damn close. Cholowski is more offence oriented. Going into the draft it was known his defensive game needs work. He is 185lb? Guess i was looking at another site that had him listed at 165lb and 6'1. That's a bean pole for sure. Who knows how long until he gets to the NHL too since he just started college.

Sorta. This team can be better with those players, but it's all forwards mostly. Doesn't effect the D much, and Mrazek has been as good as Howard was before he went down. Things don't look good either way. lol Yeah, maybe if he wasn't stuck between Ott and Miller. Christ, Blash's lines just scream inept coaching.

He's already way better than last years second overall pick. Eichel has been a disappointment so far. Serves Buffalo right for going all in for the blatant tank job and their fans wearing homemade McDavid jerseys around. Karmas a beyotcha.

This season shows just how many bandwagon fans were hanging around here. It's simply our time to suck. It's inevitable in this salary cap era that every team will have a down period.

They aren't tanking. Not trying to anyways. Illitch wouldn't let that slide. They will end up missing the playoffs either way though, and if by some miracle they do make it, they're toast first round again.

Bertuzzi, Mantha are both exempt. Mantha should be staying though. So Bertuzzi will go and Lashoff will clear waivers i'm sure, then there's a decision to make. AA is waiver exempt, but I can't see him going down. Miller or Jurco will be waived probly if Mantha and AA both stay up.

Drafting Chychrun instead of dumping salary would have been cool. But it got them Nielson I guess. And some skinny ass Cholowski kid.

Someone posted a supposed quote from the Wings on why they drafted him. "We wanted the biggest, meanest kid in the draft." Why though if you don't have any intentions on giving him a shot?
