Bertuzzi steamrolled anything in his path (Until Moore, then he played like he was scared to touch anyone for fear that they'd get hurt. That s*** messed him right up). He could fight if he had to, but no one messed with him anyways, so he never had to. I saw him at a beer store here in Sudbury one summer. Dude is MASSIVE. Agreed. Vanek uses his size all the time in his game. Mantha as well.

Coreau will be Mrazek's backup next season. Pretty sure he's no longer waiver exempt. Howard will look good with that big gold knight on his chest. Or a big flaming C. Or something.

Holland sucks at trading, besides Hasek (who fell into his lap), Schneider, an Stuart. Rest have been worthless deadline deals (Legwand, Zidlicky, Cole, KFQ. Although KFQ stayed and was decent last season.). I hope he's not as bad at selling as trading, or it could be a s*** show.

No one will ever play like Hasek did. He had his own way, which was pretty simple in theory. Just stop the puck, whatever it takes. There was no "style" involved. Every goalie has fundamentals that they learn and build off of and for the most part stick to. Hasek didn't. From dropping his stick to grab the puck with his blocker hand to racing out to mow down a player on a breakaway (Anyone remember his move on Gaborik? LOL), he just invented as he went. I guess cause they're both Czech natives, comparisons get made. But the way they each play isn't even close close similar. Closest to Hasek's way would have been Martin Prusek, who was his backup in Ottawa for a time.

I hope Kronwall doesn't play anymore games for the Wings. Ever. But unfortunately with Holland, Kronwall has a spot on this team as long as he wants one, being he's one of 5 or so left from 2008. Cause loyalty. And wasn't Lashoff up with the Wings full time a few years ago? Or am I thinking of someone else...

Holland won't be gone until Mike Illitch kicks the bucket. Maybe even a few years after that. Blash will get at least one more season from Holland. Not just because he actually believes Blash is an NHL caliber coach, but because he's lazy and doesn't want to have to look elsewhere.

I was hoping he'd get a start on this call up. With Howard still out, looks like he may.

Are you serious? Howard is injured and there has been zero decline in the goaltending. Did you think it was Sawchuk's ghost in there or something?

Yeah last season most (myself included) thought we had a phenom Kenny stole with the 15th pick. First teenager to make the roster since Yzerman who was lighting it up in the first half and was an All Star selection. Then he dropped off and has stayed off since. Great player, but not close to what he was looking like he'd become.

NTCs get worked into contracts as a way of the player having control of where he plays, not necessarily because he wants to stay where he signed forever. A player can waive his NTC if a trade to a certain team would be beneficial to him, or he wants a change of scenery, etc. If he doesn't want to go, he can refuse it and stay put.

But why would he not want to be traded? He's sharing time with Mrazek right now, but only cause Mrazek had a rough stretch for a couple games and he (Howard) is playing the best he has in years, which was very unexpected. Had that not happened, he wouldn't have played much so far. I'm sure he'd like to go to a team where he will play more and can take over the top spot for good. Plus the Wings are in the middle of a rebuild. Why stick around for that?

I agree. He mentioned that Howard can't be moved because he has a NTC. Just saying that he can be traded since his contract is now an M-NTC. No reason to move Howard unless there's a decent return now that he's playing well again. Not even gonna get into this anymore. Lol

Didn't say a buyout should happen. Just saying it's an option.

Derek MacKenzie is CAPTAIN of the Panthers? I went to highschool with him in Sudbury. He's been a plugger most of his career I thought.. NM just checked his stats. He's played alot, but nothing great. Just goes to show the C isn't always the best player. lol
