Haha it was 25 years ago, but man, that one stung. Still kinda does, what a pathetic loss. Osgood coughed that puck up hard, but if Essensa wasn't being Essensa, he wouldn't have had to play. And it led to Vernon coming aboard, so things turned out ok in the end.

Yeah, he's been jumping around more the last couple games, needs to settle the f*** down. Canes PK has been s*** though, allowed 4 goals on 7 kills, Boston 1 goal on 6. Every goalie is inconsistent at times, and every goalie blows games and series, from the elite on down. Vaz, Rinne, Bobrovsky, Holtby, Fleury have all done it. Wouldn't be surprised to see Mac get the Game 3 start over Mrazek if they lose this one, which seems nearly certain. Well, there's another one. 5-0. I'm done with this one. lol WTF? 6-0? Dougie coughed er right up. Canes 0 for 4 on the PP this game now, 1 for 7 in two games. What a mess. lol

Just screams SJW.

It is. lol LOL Ouch.

Makes sense. "Niemi was the only player that Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin confirmed would not be returning at the team’s locker room clear out at the end of the season." https://www.habseyesontheprize.com/latest-news/2019/5/8/18536904/report-antti-niemi-to-sign-with-jokerit-in-khl-montreal-canadiens-habs-free-agency

I'd like the Sharks to win to get the draft pick upgrade, but i'd like the Blues to win, and maybe go all the way, just to piss off Leafs fans because they have the same 50 year cup draught.
-
One of those calls was borderline. Bergeron also hit a Canes player from behind, no call. Can't blame the refs though for allowing those PP goals. Their D was all over the place, especially on the third and winning BOS goal, left all alone in front. The Canes had the lead and the momentum and lost it. Only one game though, the Canes know they can skate with Boston..regroup and come out hard in Game 2, don't wanna go home down 2-0.

That would be too much, but he may get it with the goalies available. Yep. Niemi had solid numbers in SJ after that though. Dropped off some in Dallas, then he had his embarrassing Pittsburgh experiment. Recovered some in Montreal. Wonder if he'll even get any interest this summer....
-
True, he wasn't as good. I think he could back a true contender to a Cup though. He'll have no shortage of offers from teams that need a legit starter and can afford him. UFA goalie pickings are pretty slim this summer.

I've watched most of their two rounds so far. They are playing well, but anything can happen in the playoffs, as we've seen many times.
-
It's absolutely possible they can pull off another upset. They already knocked off two 100 point+ teams, one being the defending Cup champs. I see quite a few writing off Carolina already, but I really don't see what Boston has that they can't overcome.

I dunno about that. Kind of a toss up. Nielson, Abby, Helm, DeKeyser are the long terms that stick out. Ericsson and Daley's deals are done after this coming season. Howard is on one year deals from here on out. Bernier's only got two years left. Larkin, AA, Mantha, Bertuzzi are all doing well. Edmonton has Lucic, Gagner, Sekera, Larsson, Russell on bad deals. Koskinen makes more than Howard, is signed for another three years , and isn't any better. They're two top forwards are definitely better than any of ours, so they have the advantage there. Nuge and Chaisson are good too, but not any better than our top three.

mmmm Apple whiskey.

Money and a new challenge to try to rebuild a struggling franchise with two star players in McDavid and Leon. Chiarelli sure left him a mess though, best of luck. Holland has handed out bad long term deals, but some of the ones on the books in Edmonton are even worse. Some forwards are overpaid and s***ty, defense is old and overpaid, goaltending is questionable..who do they have? Koskinen and Stolarz? Actually, their D isn't old, i thought Sekera and Russell were older. They just suck and and are overpaid and have NMCs. $4 million per until 2021 with an NMC for Kris Russell.? Christ.

I was reading some of the articles out of Edmonton on this. One writer posted a "to do list" for Holland. Three of the ten or so things were get rid of the Lucic contract. lol
-
Bobrovsky is probably low key excited to clean out his locker and never return to that dressing room.
-
That would be pretty mint.

Top ten in the league in every stat category since Jan. 1

Can't say I care at all about this. lol
-
Depends how much money Seattle throws at him, I figure. They could make an offer he can't refuse. That's IF holland cares about a big payday at this point.
-
I getcha. Just miscommunication here. The team is a group. They succeed and fail together. This trip to the ECF belongs to, and was earned by, every team member. Which is why I said Mrazek is going to the ECF. lol.
-
Nah, I gave him lots of credit this year. He was solid.
-
Wasn't meant to come across that way. I meant what's transpired in both rounds so far. Mrazek is still headed to the EC Final, and Howard has never reached a Conf Final. It's truth. He's the starter, and he's day to day with an injury. It happens. He's done more than his share to get the team this far, and he would have played if he was able. Should everything he did before he was injured be written off? That's kind of the way your making it sound, whether you give him credit for Washington or not. He was playing stellar in the Isles series, and was forced out. Of course Mac has better numbers. He played 2.5 games. Most backups have good numbers, unless they really suck.

LET ME BE HAPPY FOR PETR FFS!!! lol
