10/27 GDT : Red Wings 2, at St. Louis Blues 1 (SO)

I forgot about Kronwall. Lol know he will come back, but the D pairings are doing good together right now and in the proper spots. Even Errorsson is doing well in the third pairing where he should be, not making huge blunders that cost the team games on the first pairing where he's clearly overmatched. I hope Kronwall's return doesn't send the D into a tailspin again when the pairings will be switched up and he will probably end up back on the top pairing where he really shouldn't be anymore. -

I just watched Z's goal again...made it look easy. Allen got burnt hard. Reminds me of the late 00's. -

SIX GAME WIN STREAKKKK!!! The Blues dominated alot of the game, but my boy Mrazek put on a clinic tonight, especially in the shootout. Nielson with a sick SH goal to tie it, and fitting that the captain scored the shootout winner. He needed that, and the team needed him to come through. This team is showing alot of heart and confidence right now, scoring alot more goals, both goalies are playing great. Everyone is competing, no ones a passenger (for the most part) just floating around out there being lazy and just giving up on plays. This team can make some noise this season that's for sure. KEEP IT UP!!!! Yeah, when I heard Vanek was out tonight I thought "oh, here we go, our best forward so far is injured..it starts". He'll be alright. As for Franzen, he's still getting paid, but it doesn't count against the cap. He just sits at home collecting millions of dollars until the contract is up. lol -

Just checked the score. Game tied, Nielson shortie! Too bad it's only the 6th shot of the game through 1.5 periods. Hopefully they wake the f*** up now! -

Still held up and can't watch the game. How's it goin so far? Did Miller take Vanek's spot after the injury? -
Ya some teams have injured starters and are relying on borderline NHL goalies (LA has their starter and backup from their minor league team filling those roles on the big team, Price is hurt again leaving Montoya to start) going forward instead of trying to work out a deal for Howard when it's been known he's been available for awhile now. Normally when a (former in this case) starter is available, some team with a need finds a way to bring him in. Jimmy should be gone by now, but he obv has too many question marks for a team to take him on. Those two good games, while i'm happy about the result and happy for Jimmy, they really mean nothing.

Let's make it 6!! Those lines look good. Abby on the fourth with Ott..i dig that! At the doctors now, hope hope make it home in time. Should be a good one! Mannn. Really?? Of course our luck with our best players getting injured begins... -
Those events aren't every other night. Plus with a basketball game, that flooring gets pounded all over. With other events, it'll be a certain area mostly.
-
Don't like the idea, mostly because of the potential impact on ice conditions and changes in the arena design to accommodate basketball games. Keep it hockey only. No hardwood over the ice please.
-
Abby makes too much for too long, but that's Holland's fault. He's one of the only guys on the team who plays hard every night, uses his size to his advantage, and is willing to drop the gloves. Personally, i'm happy he's a Red Wing.
-
Teams can ask for Mrazek, but they won't get him. Lol Yeah I realized that after I posted that it was just a short term contract to play with the Reign because the two goalies who are supposed to be there are both up in LA. As for the 4 wins, goo for Budaj. Didn't expect that from him.
-
Bout time. This is a really good team, but panicking and making mistakes cost them a lot last season. Things are looking much, much better. I agree. He's not looking too good right now. Sticking out a lot as a weak link on a team that's cruising along as a cohesive unit.

5 in a rowwww!! Looooooking goooooddd!! Missed the game, but it didn't sound all that exciting from the comments. Vanek on the board again! Larkin def needed those goals, let's hope this gets him going. AA rounding it out. Kid plays hard, he needs to stay in the lineup, as does Ott, who is doing great job on the PK. He's the most well rounded player on the fourth line. If anyone sits when Abby is back it should be Sheahan or Glenny (which won't happen, but hey).
-
Skinner out, Stalberg moves to his line. Frk and Nestrasil at the wings on fourth line, Bickell scratched. The emergence of Sproul makes Marchenko expendable imo. Trade piece perhaps?
-
Yeah , I remember when that happened. After he won the Conn Smythe too. Was a head scratcher but he figured Osgood was ready after the the years of Vernon's mentoring and going through long playoff runs watching him. And he was.
-
Haha Budaj/Lindback? Now that's a scary tandem. This will be Lindback's SIXTH NHL team and he's only 28, fresh from getting cut at NJ's training camp. Talk about the last moldy remnants in the barrel.

Yeah that place just isn't suitable for hockey, from the seating to the ice. It was built for basketball. They can opt out of their lease at the end of the 2018 season. -
LGW!! Make it 5 in a row!
-
He's always had problems with confidence that expose his weaknesses (lateral movement being a big one), and when he allows that to come out, the team is in for a rough night. I thought even in the SJ game that was a shutout he looked shaky at times, but battled through it. Last season the team was lucky that when one goalie slipped, the other was there, but eventually that's gonna bite them in the ass. Goaltending is arguably the team's strongest point, and both need to play well every night for them to have a shot at actually doing something in the playoffs, no matter who is starter and who is backup. So far it's been going well. Yeah. Injured himself in practice. Haha The Kings can't catch a break.

Make them play the whole season on the road. Lol -
Right on Green! Start of a career year I hope!!
-
Hahahaha Ohhh that would absolutely happen. Would be hilarious to watch the meltdown here.

No complaints I regards to the Vanek signing that's for sure! Taking him over Frk or Pulk is a no-brainer IMO.
