Mrazekkk!!!
-
Vanek and Smith not takin s***. Good.
-
LOL Errorsson is so lazy. Just watches the puck clear the cats' zone, makes no attempt at it.
-
We all knew the defence was going to give us ulcers, especially when they refuse to take somebody like Errorsson out of the lineup. He wouldn't even be on the roster of some teams, and he's the third highest paid D-man on the Wings.
-
Helm! Really? Nice!!
-
Or Z starts to play like it's 2008.
-
NO defence on that play. Horrible. Can we get somebody Kenny? Anybody.
-
Oh mannnnnnn.
-
Mraz! Hold steady.
-
It's 1-0 Cats.
-
"Mrazek must be shaken up" He doesn't get shaken up. Bad bounce off Larkin's skate first shot of the game.
-
Less than 2 in, already down 1-0.

What. The. f***???

Blashill tinkering with lines after Tampa loss
chaps80 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
LOL Best way i've heard it described. He plays like a *****, but is still good for 50 points. Imagine if he wasn't scared to get hit? -
Agreed, but last game wasn't all that bad besides the dumb penalties and blown leads. scoring 4 goals against Tampa is an improvement over many games last season when they struggled to score goals. Yes they scored 5 and one EN, but the game was close. The D and Mrazek (played well but not as well as he can) need to tighten the screws and Blashill needs to ice better lines. AA is in tonight so that's one step forward. Bench Errorsson for Sproul. Vanek and Nielson both looked great in their first games with the Wings. Vanek fills a big hole from last season with his scoring and net presence. This team can compete, they just need to get it together. Hopefully tonight is when it begins. Haha very true.

Glad to see AA in, but Miller should be the scratch. Guess it doesn't really matter much though.

Holland would have to retain salary. Howard's cap hit is covered by Quick's, but LA would never take him at his full cap hit because he's a high risk aquisition. Too many question marks regarding his play. If he sucks fo them, then he's an even harder move than he is at this point. Changed teams and still the same result..no team would ever want anything to do with him (at least until his contract is up and they can take a chance for cheap maybe). Plus when Quick comes back from injury they're stuck with a $5 million backup. Basically taking the Wings' current problem on themselves. Sucks for the Kings that Quick is hurt, especially having the same injury as before, being sidelined for months and having only Zatkoff and Budaj to turn to. Zatkoff is capable though, but I dunno if he'll get them through this without having to make a trade for more help. Gotcha. Def a meaningless move.

Yeah that's true. Retain some salary for rest of this season and next instead of paying off a buyout for five or six. Then if LA did want him and it didn' work out they could waive and bury if he doesn't get claimed or try to pass him along to another team at a fairly cheap hit, or let Vegas have him if they want him. If Holland could do it that would be a big step forward. Then focus on getting rid of Errorsson. Lol

Dude deserves it. I like when guys that play hard, get respect, and are a good influence on the younger players with regards to work ethic, accountability, and a locker room voice get the "C" and "A", and not just handed it because of their skill even though they might be the quietest guy in the room who won't speak up. Like when Hatcher was captain of the Stars before Modano was. Then Modano only had it for a short time before Morrow was given it.

Blashill tinkering with lines after Tampa loss

I agree Ott shouldn't be waived. Not only would it look bad on the Wings part, but i'm sure they want to see what he can do here, and i'm sure some fans do as well. Way too soon. Jurco on the other hand needs to be let go soon. He's been a fringe player for awhile. He's got skill, but maybe Detroit isn't where he can use it. AA should not be sent down for him or sent down at all. -

Rather see Miller waived than Ott. Almost time to move Jurco on out as well. Waive one of them and bring up Mantha. The guy needs to play in the NHL. Funny how he was the prospect the Wings were highest on until Larkin, but he's never up with the big club for long. Always goes back to GR. It's ridiculous. -

Errorsson never looks like an NHL defenseman. Lazy and he sucks. At least if he played like a 6'4 225lb'er and threw his weight around, blocked shots, leveled some guys, and fought now and then, then it wouldn't be so bad. He plays like he's Nyquist size. Why he hasn't been banished to the AHL then finally bought out like Wade Redden was by NYR year ago is baffling. I know the D is at it's worst point in decades, and pickings are slim, but theres better guys on the bench and in GR that could replace that pylon. -
I agree. Things do need to change as far as signing veterans instead of bringing up overripe guys in the minors. ELCs save A LOT of money in this cap era, and the guys in the minors are better than some guys on the big club. If you don't give your young guys a chance, why even draft at all? Holland needs to get away from what worked in the late 90's. The Wings must be the only team to still run a 4th line of veteran grinders. As for Sproul, Holland might be clueless at times, but he won't be losing him to waivers. Something will be worked out.
-
Well said! Pulks had zero trade value at this point. He might have fetched something earlier when he was coming off a season in which he won the AHL scoring title, but now he's worth nothing. He even got passed over to the point where Minny could claim him. That's 13 other teams that passed. He's no big loss. I don't see the big deal with him. He's got a hard shot and can hit the net. That doesn't do you any good if you can't get it off in time or from a good enough spot to make it dangerous. He still needs work, and Minny is gonna put him on a top line with Koivu? Good luck with that.
