Yeah, I was never a fan of that either. I doubt it has much, if any, effect on the goalie anyways. If you can play in front of 20,000 fans night in night out, I doubt them taunting you makes much difference since you already tune the crowd out to focus, especially at the NHL level. You've heard it all before by then.

Well, they COULD draft the best available D or G of the year with the #1 pick, but they won't. Def time to make some trades, and improve other positions. Taking the obvious #1 guy every chance they get and sitting on him is'nt working out for them.

There really should be a limit on how many first rounders you can get in so many years. It's insane. Your right, all this is is franchise mismanagement. Pittsburgh won a cup two or three years after getting Crosby and Malkin, and Chicago in about the same time frame as getting Toews and Kane. If you don't put those assets to work, you should'nt continue to get them.

I dunno how he still has a job. Is it due to loyalty because he was part of past success? If it is, they need to let go of that. 1990 was 25 years ago, and they are FAR from another cup right now.

Who knows, it's just crazy the amount of forward talent they have, but can't seem to do anything with. s***ty to see talented young players held back like that. I'm sure the Oilers don't care, but those #1 picks deserve a shot at a career, not being buried in a logjam in a horribly run franchise.

Why don't the Oilers trade some of their forward assets for some defense and goaltending? Seems like a logical move...but I guess theres no logic in Edmonton right now.

HAHAHAHAHAHA As if the Oilers won. The NHL draft is such a joke. Buffalo did'nt deserve it after the tank job, but man, they must be PISSED!! At least now Buffalo fans can take off their stupid makeshift McDavid jerseys.

On the lighter side of things, I just noticed Jamie McLennan is a hockey analyst for TSN. Did'nt he paddle chop Franzen in the gut during his final career game? Guy was a joke. Journeyman backup who barely hung on to an NHL career. TSN is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. -
No doubt he's been bad for awhile, but I thought he looked alright in Game 1. Back to his old ways today though. He will never sit though, no matter how badly he plays. That's been clear for awhile.

Good. Putting in Howard would be too quick on the draw. There's no need to switch after one loss when Mrazek was the main reason they won the first game. Hopefully he bounces back. -

I feel the same way, but they escaped with a win in the first game, then got pounded today. Things have not looked good so far. But it is a tied series, they're no worse off. Just gotta wake up out there. They can beat Tampa, but the play we've seen so far is'nt going to get it done. Too many defensive lapses and missed opportunities. Tampa looks dangerous everytime they hit Detroit's zone. -

Holy s***! I left my Dad's house after the 1st and it was 1-0. WTF happened? 3 goals allowed in the 2nd, Mrazek chased..were the goals his fault, or did the D just suck?
