  1. One great thing about this season, the young forwards really stepped up to lead the team. Larkin ( 32 G, 41 A, 73 P), AA (30 G, 24 A, 54 P), Mantha(25 G, 23 A, 48 P), and Bertuzzi (21 G, 26 A, 47 P) all had their best seasons so far.

    2019 Draft

Agreed. Nielson i've never been a fan of, always felt Holland jumped the gun on signing him to too much money/term when Datsyuk retired, but he at least contributes. The other two are pure write offs.

I don't see Babs getting the Leafs much further these playoffs either. Not only because of what you mentioned with his weird lines and adjustments and not playing the guys he should, but he had Andersen play 60 games. Not that should be too much for a starter, but you'd think Babs would have learned to rest him a bit more considering what happened in the playoffs last year when he looked drained and fell apart. Guess it's hard to do that when your backups are sub-par though.
  4. Just watched the replay of the game. Were they even trying to play defense? Or offence for that matter? Howard looked like he didn't really give a s*** either. Fulcher...you can tell the kid has never even played an AHL game. Raw as it gets. 2 goals on 11 shots, guess it could have been worse.

Which Goalie Will Have The Better Season?

Mrazek in 2015 was also the call up backup with Gus hurt. Split the season between GR and Detroit. Babcock decided to start him for the playoffs when Howard's play dropped off towards seasons end. He did pretty well with that considered. As for 2016, Howard was playing better at the end of the season, so he got the playoff start. Guess Babcock felt he wasn't doing well enough and replaced him. I agree Mrazek had been erratic, until this season. Seems like he's smartened up and lost the cockyness after being humbled into a one year "show me" deal in Carolina, where he was supposed to be the backup. We'll see how he holds up in the playoffs.
  6. Chick is mint. And thats the season. Hopefully we do well in the draft lottery.

Which Goalie Will Have The Better Season?

    Huh? Looks like he did well enough..... GP W L GAA SV% SO 2014-2015 DET: 7 3 4 2.11 .925 2 2015-2016 DET: 3 1 2 1.35 .945 1 Howard started the 2016 playoffs, Mrazek took over after Game 2. Howard's numbers weren't pretty.
  8. Nope, the Knicks didn't win anything in the Ewing era, besides a couple Conference titles in '94 and '99. Lost the Finals both times.
  9. I'm hoping Yzerman comes back to the Wings, but Holland not wanting to vacate the GM spot for him was part of the reason he left in the first place. Holland would for sure have to be moving up or moving on for Yzerman to come back, I figure. Maybe he'd agree to one season under Holland at most.
  10. I was thinking..Puppa never played for Detroit. Then i looked at his stats..one game for Adirondack.
  11. GO WOLVES!! We probably drew the toughest team in Round 2 in Ottawa, lost the first game 8-5. Luukkonen was not himself in goal last night, and once he was pulled, it was over cause our backup sucks. But DiPietro had a rough night for Ottawa too. Gonna be a good series.
  12. I'd like to see Fulcher play as well. Win or lose, Ottawa has 31st locked up, so they're the only team that's guaranteed a top 4 pick. We lose, we end up 28th. Win, we end up 27th, and could end up as high as 26th I believe if NYR loses. Either way, the lottery has to go in our favor at this point. Guaranteed nothing.

Which Goalie Will Have The Better Season?

He's among the top ten goalies league wide since Jan. 1. No pulling going on. Carolina is a better team than Detroit, but I wouldn't call them contenders. As for who would have had the better season on this team between hhim and Howard, who knows. But i'd sure take him over Bernier. Mrazek’s .936 5v5 SV% since January 1st is 10th-best in the NHL, and only two other goaltenders have been more stingy than his 1.76 GAA. His 8.69 GSAA in that time frame, which indicates that he’s saved almost nine more goals than an average NHL goaltender would have based on the type of shots he’s seen, is good for 9th in the NHL. Most impressively, his .880 High Danger Save Percentage, third best in the league, confirms that he’s been absolutely standing on his head during this Hurricanes playoff push. Mrazek is near the top of the league in just about every relevant goaltending metric over the past few months. https://www.canescountry.com/2019/4/3/18293604/carolina-hurricanes-by-the-numbers-goaltending-petr-mrazek-curtis-mcelhinney

Which Goalie Will Have The Better Season?

Well, Mrazek had the best season. Surprised me. Congrats to him.
  19. I had to watch AA's goal ten times. He's quickly become my fave Wings player. Sorry, Bert.
  20. Awesome. I love the emergency backup deal, must be a great experience. But, if he wasn't even on the bench, that's bulls***. Hope he at least got a jersey with his name/number. And hopefully it wasn't #30 again. lol
  21. AA is ******* money. 4-0 win. Did someone say the Wings had an emergency backup tonight?

I think my fave part will always be Shanny clotheslining Roy.
  23. Not impossible, that's for sure. He had 49 with Detroit this season.
  24. Just saw AA's goal. What a weapon that kid is. Knew it was only a matter of time once he got the hands coordinated with that speed. 29 on the season, f*** yeah!! Bernier had a hell of a game too, I see. Cool that we could screw the Sharks in an important game for them playoff seed wise.
