It is'nt unreasonable. Was just stating a fact. Howard has been out over a month, his first game back was'nt good. Gotta give slack where its due. People love to jump on goalies around here. lol

They've been trying to rebuild on the fly for years now. It's just not working, but of course it took them way too long to figure that out. Now they say they're committed to a full on rebuild, lets see how that goes for them. Another thing, their fans keep going to games win or lose, so there really is'nt that incentive to do the work needed to put a good product on the ice. If the money keeps pouring in, who cares? Maybe their fans should do like they did in Chicago and Pittsburgh. Boycott games until the team is good enough to spend money to watch. They might actually get their s*** together when it comes down to having a quarter-full arena.

Nah, I did'nt mean for it to sound like that. He did have some great games, even had a shutout, and kept us in a good spot in the standings, which is what matters the most. Was just saying that some people seemed more inclined to give him a pass on the bad games because he is the third stringer and learning the ropes in the NHL, but they are always hard on Howard after a bad one.

Damn right!! His contributions to the Wings past success is massive. If they decide to retire another number, I think it should be a goaltender, and it should be Osgood. Sawchuk is the only other goalie to have his number retired by the Wings, and while Osgood was'nt as great as he was, you'd be hard pressed to find another goaltender who spent most of his career (14 years) in Detroit with his accomplishments and numbers.

Howard: 33 GP: 17 of 2 or less GA 9 of 3 GA 7 of 4 GA, only once let in over 4 with 5 GA. 2 SO So whats with the hate? lol Yeah, we all know he sucks in shootouts. And Mrazek was'nt letting in goals at that same rate in some games?But it's OK, because Petr is just learning.

Weirder things have happened. Apparantly he's just an injury-prone career backup though, so no need to be concerned if he was moved there. He would'nt sniff a game and his groin would blow up in his first practice.

Mrazek gets a break from some fans because he's our #3. He had some really bad games while being thrust into the starting role with our #1 and #2 out, and got lucky the team scored enough so he could win games. It was'nt as if he came up and had multiple shutouts and lots of games with 1 or 2 GAA. He struggled, some nights badly. But I guess as long as were winning, who cares right? lol Howard is expected to perform, and when he does'nt, even if it's his first start in over a month, he does'nt get those breaks. It's all on him, even when the whole team sucks. When or if Mraz is the legitimate starter, it'll be like that for him too. Goalie bashing is LGW favourite pastime.

Anyone else think that Howard was going to get burned on that breakaway? I can't be the only one who was ready to change the channel. lol He always seems to make everything seem tougher or better than it was.

Go from winning 3-1 to losing 5-4 in a shootout. lol i remember when a multiple goal lead was actually comfortable. It's been awhile, but at a time, it was. Now whether its 3-1, 4-0..whatever, it never seems like enough. Hutchinson made all those shootout saves look easy, but when a guy shoots directly for your glove it does'nt get much easier than that. We got a point, and Howard did well in the shootout. At least we can take that from this game. On to Monday...
