Yeah, Mrazek was giving up alot of goals prior to the NYI game. I wonder if McCollum's play in the third period of the Tampa game made him realize he better smarten up, or it's pine time.

Yeah, he's another one. Funny how even big guys like Franzen and Ericsson are soft in Detroit. Its the way things work. It's like they were told if they wanted to play here they can't play rough.

Yeah, I forget Franzen has actually been very useful at times instead of being a 230lb floater who won't hit anything.

Edmonton's mismanagement of everything is an atrocity. Chicago and Pittsburgh seemed to have done well with their top pick stockpiles, and did it in fairly short order. Edmonton just can't do anything right. At all. Anywhere.

He should have traded Franzen for Legwand. Franzen is useless and Legwand was a rental, and not a great one, so that would have worked out well and opened up some cap room. But I have a s***ty feeling that if Franzen went to another team he'd instantly turn into a 40-50 goal scorer. lol

Usually he sits tight. It's like he's afraid of screwing up now that he does'nt have unlimited money to fix things. Since the cap came into affect, he has'nt done anything major trade wise. Who knows though, he may surprise us.

Holland MAY be able to land some free agents in the offseason now that the team is on an upswing again and players might want to come here, but in the trade dept. he def is'nt aggressive enough and won't make risky trades for needed pieces. If he does make a move its a depth trade, or a good prospect for an aging veteran at the deadline.

No, expecting the team to get better is'nt being spoiled at all, and if this is our re-tooling phase, were doing damn good. I just mean some people seem to expect too much out of the team every year because we've had so much past success, and I know i'm not the first to say that.

We've made the playoffs how many years in a row? Four cups in that time. I just think alot of peoples expectations come from being spoiled as Wings fans. Teams go through rough patches where they sit in the basement of the league for years, (although with parity now, that does'nt happen for too long anymore, unless you count Edmonton). That has'nt happened in Detroit since 1991. I'm sure some of the posters on here were'nt even born yet when the streak began. Fans of most teams would be thrilled with that, but around here, it just seems its cup or bust. Fire Holland.

I understand some people have high expectations every year, but some of those expectations just are'nt realistic is all i'm saying. And yeah, it would be nice to get past the first round this year.

Doubt Brodeur wants much to do with the Devils. Surely he's still pissed that they would'nt resign him after he played his entire career there, won 3 cups, etc. I don't really see why he would be though. His time was done. He ended up making the right decision and retiring. Lamorillo has said he is always welcome back, but he'd rather pull a suck attack and work with the Blues, who he played what, 3 games for? lol

Why is not winning the cup every damn year always considered a failure by some? There are plenty of great teams always in contention that have'nt won anything, like San Jose. We should feel greatful for those four cups since '97. Seems like if we don't win the cup, people want to blow up the roster or "tank it " the next season. lol

What kind of a sentence is 4-30 years??? lol I hate theives, and she def deserves to be punished for her crime, but I figure 4 years would be more than enough for this crime. Thats why the States have the highest rate of people locked up in the world. The sentences some people get even for petty misdemeanors there is insane. And some States even lock up kids for skipping school. Unbelieveable, edit-Just read the part about her being a four time felon. Does'nt that mean she should be locked up for the rest of her life? Three strikes. Which is also a stupid law. If its murder or something, ok, but you can get a felony charge for some pretty harmless things.

Missed the game, but checking the score, seems like a decisive win against a very good team. I see Mrazek got 2nd star. Great to see he rebounded quickly from the shelling by Tampa. He's got alot of confidence and skill, just needs more games in the NHL, and it looks like he'll get at least a few more before Howies back. I thought they MAY go with McCollum today, but it was a good choice putting Mrazek back out there quickly to shake it off.
