I dunno how you can put any kind of positive spin on this dismal roster having $1,681,212 in useable cap. Years of bad contracts have culminated in this low value roster for high cost. At least this will be the worst of that scenerio after this season. If we had cap, it wouldn't really matter. But, opening up cap space during a rebuild whenever possible makes sense.

Every roster move they make brings zero sense of excitement. It's just exchanging suck for more suck. Daley's back...great. When's Errorsson coming back? Thankfully Hicketts can be sent down for him so Cholowski can stay and learn and stuff, but that's another useless move. This ******* roster, almost at the cap. This is the season we fully pay for Kenny's contract blunders.

Trying to get to the playoffs for another first round exit. Nielson is a playmaker on a team with no real finishers. Always had higher assists totals than goals, and his numbers haven't stayed consistent from season to season, save for a couple. Increase, decline, increase, decline. 33 goals/41 assists in two full seasons in Detroit. 6 years/$5.25 mill per with an NMC for the first 2, NTC for the rest. Christ, Kenny. Some Isles fans wanted him back as recent as the end of last season. Trade him back for someone. Anyone. Preferably with a low cap hit. Open some cap Kenny. OPEN IT!!

Yeah Nielson is horrible. He just is. Hated the signing when it happened, still do. Overpaid and unmovable contract Holland signed in a panic after Dats f***ed off home. Sorry, I mean f***ed off to Russia to play in another league.

Send Ras back to juniors would be my answer, but wasn't he dominating juniors last year? Wasn't even a challenge? May as well keep him up to learn, he won't benefit from dominating a junior league then coming up next year still green. Witkowski is pretty useless, but he fights. May as well have something to enjoy. Frk it is.

Hahaha man this team is horrible for being almost at the cap. Those lines strike fear in no opposing goalies. Even Niemi.

Doesn't really matter, this team is beyond help no matter who is in net. The bad thing is that they lost 7-3 with Niemi in net for the Habs. Suckage on offence and defence. Complete 60 minutes.

Yeah, he'd already held out for money once, which made his jumping ship look a even worse. Dats only had one season left, he should have just finished it. I get wanting to be close to family, but he signed with a team hours away from them after returning to Russia. That didn't help his cause with the Detroit fanbase. Both situations sucked.

Tremendous player, tremendous loss. I always held out hope he'd somehow make it back on the ice, even though i knew he wouldn't.

Yzerman was the more complete player, but Fedorov was more skilled. Either way, Yzerman is a hallowed figure in Detroit, and Fedorov tarnished his legacy. Like Dats.

Yeah, i don't see AA ever being a gritty player. Def a finesse guy. His skating ability is just unreal. I don't think i've ever seen a guy fly end to end like he does, just massive strides and hes gone.

It's not impossible. But he'd have to smarten the hell up.
