Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Didn't round it up, but it's close enough. Either way, it's only about 3.25 too much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The D will be better once Green, Kronwall, and Errorsson are gone. They're holding better guys in the system from moving up to the big team, or preventing them from taking top roles. Oulette, Jensen should already be in those places permanently. The roster is so f***ed by Holland's willy nilly money tossing it's unreal. Highest cap in the league with IR and buyouts and finished 24th. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'd hire him too. He turned Osgood into a HOF worthy goalie. Did well with Mrazek too, then he was replaced..... I remember Salajko from his OHL days in the '90's. Dude was a sieve. I know he was the goalie coach in GR, but there was no reason to replace Bedard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fischer was scouting him for a year apparently. May as well see what he's got. Wings' D can use all the help it can get. Look everywhere possible I say. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That is a very good point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Case in point, Pronger in the '07 WCF. One game (and I'll bet the league wrestled with if they should even do that for a little bit) for a blatant injury attempt in a blindside hit from behind into the boards. Double standards for stars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great deal at the time, but not for long. DD makes $5 million. Errorsson makes $4.25 million. Pretty close. All together it's a lot for those four. Kronwall is pretty well done, Green and DD underperformed, and Errorsson, that speaks for itself. Guy should make $2 million, if that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good article. This coming season could be his last chance with the Bruins organization. I'm sure they could find a team to take him on for a cheap trade with hope that he does much better with a change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Which has slowly made the roster full of horrid contracts for overpaid players. Errorsson, Helm, Kronwall, Green, Howard, Abby, DD, etc. Four defensemen have NTCs, and make more than $5 million each, yet the D was a big hole. Once other teams got past the back checking forwards, it was often embarrassingly easy for them to go straight to the net. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's not that I don't care about it. It was amazing to have a 25 year playoff streak. But at some point you gotta stop worrying about it, especially when you back in and lose in 5 games. Trying to continue it just f***s up the roster more than it is. Good run, time to rebuild. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Helm deal sucked too. One of Tatar and Nyquist can be moved. Tatar needs a new deal, but would anyone take him with his future cap hit unknown? Might have to be a sign and trade. Nyquist might be the easier to move. His cap hit is just over $4 million with years left. If he wants to clear cap and promote kids, moving one makes sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes of course. But when you have no realistic shot at anything, work towards improvement first before trying to win, that's all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Look at the Preds and Kings rosters. Rinne and Quick in goal. Two great defences. The Kings have scoring power too and are a big team. The Wings are way below them talent wise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sure they did, but Detroit had the better, more experienced roster. And Hossa on their side this time, although from what I remember, his playoffs weren't great after notching 40 goals in the regulars. About the Malkin thing, I can agree with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah that was a horrible call. It was the Stars though, and Hull scored the goal to win his first Cup. Probably just something the NHL wanted left alone. Funny how nowadays you can bowl a goalie over and score and it counts (sometimes). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Crazy. No dangler there no, one on his Wiki profile pic though. Hopefully he wears it now. Weird stance in that NHL pic lol pretzel knees. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah, he needs to get more kids up for sure. I dunno why he's so playoff obsessed. I know we Wings fans are used to winning, but most are aware of the current situation and what needs to be done first to get back in the race properly, and build a solid team again long term, not just band aids from season to season that result in futility. Damn, didn't know he had a larynx fracture! That would be a deterrent to getting back in the net. The dangers of goaltending, even with today's somewhat overprotective gear. Goalies need to wear the Brodeur/Roy danglers again. Did that happen this season? Cause his stats in Providence were excellent for the games he played. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hopefully it is. Jimmy D wants it that way, but Holland doesn't seem on board. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk No it's not guaranteed, but it helps. Colorado s*** the bed and got bumped to 4th. I'd take 4th. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lots of posts here are of that nature. His goal was the playoffs. Why? To get bounced in 5 again and pick 16th? Coulda been fine not "replacing" Datsyuk. Might have even resulted in a top 5 pick. But no, The Streak!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I understand the goal Holland had in mind of playoffs, but if he looked at his own team's playoff stats since 2014, he'd see the trend (2015 was a bit different when Mrazek stepped up to help take the Bolts to 7, but still.) that they were no longer contenders, and future planning would be prudent. But typical Holland, gets a big chunk of cap by trading Datsyuk's deal ( Bit of a controversy in itself) and promptly burns it. Shoulda stayed pat, or hunted down a solid Dman. Oh well.

Yeah I know he was meant as a replacement, but it was too long a contract at a very wrong time. He's a guy you pick up as a contender in a trade in his last season or deadline to add scoring to help you in the playoffs at this point in his career, or a long term signing for a team with a low cap to help them build into contenders. He doesn't bring enough for a team up against the cap that was on the playoff bubble struggling to get in and win a couple games in the first round to throw that kinda cash/term at. Now Kenny's stuck with him. Shattenkirk may not go to Detroit, or he may if the offers too good to turn down. If he wants to go to NY, then he'll need to price himself accordingly. Edmonton is def possible as well. Young team on the rise that needs a couple solid Dmen to put them into Conference/ Cup champions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He threw almost $6 million per for 6 at a 32 year old Frans Nielson, who he didn't really need. He panicked and jumped. He needed a second line C, but could have found someone worthy of that money before he pulled the trigger, or just waited and made do with what he had. The team was trending downward to rebuild anyhow. He's capable of throwing money at Shattenkirk. Just like he's always been capable of doing. He's bad at the cap game. I agree with the Malkin thing. He should have been suspended as per league rules, and Game 3 they probably don't win. But that makes it a 2-1 series. Not a hole by any stretch. It sucked, but it shouldn't have changed anything. The missed icing made it a 1-0 game in a series that never should have gone that far. You don't recall the slow assed play by the Wings in that game? The sheer quiet of the home crowd in a Game 7, fighting for a 5th Cup since '97 and a second repeat in just over ten years? I remember it that way, though it was 8 years ago. Either way, that Final stung to loose, much more so than the sweep to NJ, who were just starting their perennial powerhouse years at that time too, and won all the Cups from '95-'03 with Colorado, Dallas, and Detroit. PIT was not a worthy opponent, and should have been dispatched in 5. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I dunno, this series they are on pretty equal ground. Each team was blown out once, but other than that, all games have been close, both teams are getting great goaltending from their starters. Pens are better on paper, and if they had everyone healthy, this would already be over. But injuries happen and the Sens are taking advantage. Good.

A missed call that resulted in one goal in a Game 7 that would have never occurred if the Wings kept the foot on the gas after being up 2-0 in the series against a lesser opponent. They came out flat in that Game 7, like it or not. I recall many fans watching asking wtf was wrong with them. When they decided to play it was too late. One goal shouldn't have mattered when scored that early.
