  1. Hallmark of mediocre teams. Felt damn good embarassing the Hawks though.
  2. Sicago looks like they soon are the new Detroit.

    1/13 GDT - Red Wings @ Penguins - 1:00 PM EST

Pain or pleasure, at least we get to feel something. If Howard is sharp we stand a chance, otherwise I'd say we are cooked. I predict a loss, unfortunately.

    1/7 GDT - Lightning @ Red Wings - 7:00 PM EST

Only when his team enters our arena I would vote. But yes, then it should go down.

    Cholowski playing really well

Looking at Cholowski as a defenseman myself he's probably our best young defensive prospect in some time. Cholowski thinks the game. Everything seems to go slower and/or more deliberate when he has the puck. This is not bad. His play speed will pick up. But he's starting from the right spot and has some of the tools the greats had. Some of our top players were cerebral players doubting if they could possibly keep up with the speed of the NHL, noticeably Zetterberg and of course 'The perfect human', Lidström. My bet is Cholowski will adjust and be a legit two-way top 4 defenseman on the Wings.

    2018 ALL STAR GAME THREAD

Should have been Larkin. Well at least this might help us showcase him for a first rounder a little more smoother.
  7. Too subjective, we need a measure stick in regards to what the hell goes in to putting a shirt on the top of a building. Players like the Captain and Elbows don't need that. It get's a little more tight around Z, Dats and the Supreme Sergei Fedorov. So can we get a measure stick? No. Red wings ownership won't release a methodology for this, it's more of a mystic worship. Reminds me of the Sony/Marvel universe in a way. So no stick, no book, just plain old gut feeling. With that said put Z up. Datsyuk 'fled', Fedorov fled for sure. Z's last two years I feel don't matter if he 'flees', it's a 1m cap hit per year. Something tells me he'd make arrangements to have that money returned somehow. Just my two pre(quantum)-scientific 19th century silver coins.

I liked this game. Alot. Annoyance. Pain. Hate. Revenge. Alertness. Misery. All traits needed for an ancient greek "pathos" (passion) play. Where the hero(es) through struggles finally reach enlightenment, achieving a status towering their human peers. Well, one could dream. It's all we got, might as well go ancient on our team. Oh and it earned me a quick 15 bucks. =)

    World Juniors

That medal was returned. After getting it back he was asked what he would do with it. Answer was "Put it in a drawer. I got a silver medal not long ago, it's been sitting in a drawer somewhere and I've never looked at it. It's just not what I want." I have bunch of medals from my youth, mostly gold/1st but some silver/2nd place (no not world cup caliber ones, but go for the point). I never showed any of them on a shelf or something just seemed lame (kept them in a plastic bag lol), but the silver ones I didn't even care about recieving, they were just a testament to failure. Me likey. We should try to get this kid somehow.

Mrazek has been playing very well overall against the Lightning, so I don't mind this shift, let Howard heal up. I do believe he is injuried, no it is not some ploy or trade trick. With that said I have zero belief that we can win this game. That is not to say it is impossible, but my 2 brain cells both say no, making it a clear bet Against the Red Wings tonight, 20 bucks. Yzermans bunch simply packs too much punching power. And they have Hedman back there playing half the game. No siree.

Very good final game. Could have gone either way. Excellent 2-1 goal in the last 2 minutes of the 3rd made it so.

Hey why not get a little something something while enjoying the games. Doesn't get me rich nor poor but collecting 65 bucks after enjoying two really good games is satisfying.

25 bucks. Ain't much but I'll take it. Lovely goal by AA at the beginning. Got 40 on CAN to win, time to watch that one.

The oddsmakers has us as small favorites. Florida got caught by the storm and probably hasn't gotten the rest they normally should have had. I lean with that notion today, 30 bucks on the Wings moneyline. Larkin looking good, we got our horse in AA and Mantha should be picking it up a lil this game.

    1/3 GDT - Senators @ Red Wings - 7:30 PM EST

About the overtime goal, a small tidbit I noticed: look at Athanasiou's face right after the goal, it's mimicking 'I should have had that at the first or second try, finally god damn it. Almost shameful'. Point being, that's the right attitude, atleast from what I've noticed from the best, they always look at what they should have done, and try to make sure it gets done, with an edge. Bodes well.

    12/23 GDT - Red Wings @ Bruins - 1:00 PM EST

Know thyself (as in our team). I'm up about 250 on RW bets only this season which has gone directly on presents. In a sense Red Wings is my Santa. I hate to say it but I would love if we had someone like Marchand. Yes he is a dirty rat, loudmouth and gets under your skin by default. But man can he play hockey. He distracts any opposing team. I'd love having him on the Wings.

Why no Mantha on the PK?

None. It is not his strong point. On top of that he's big, equating to heavy. He is not ideal on the rush and the PK would sap his strength for what he is needed. I would surmise, and would be willing to bet if he by some miracle was to play PK extensively, that his numbers would fall in almost direct correlation to the amount of time on the penalty kill. Any takers?

    Rumors Thread

Rumors have it Mantha will start on the 4th line in tonight's game at Islanders. Athanasiou will replace him on the first line.

    12/15 GDT - Maple Leafs @ Red Wings - 7:30 PM EST

Toronto is on a back to back without Matthews. I think we're gonna zap em. There is a minor rivalry here, could play a factor and get the team rallied up. And it's a weekend game. Vets might step it up a little. Yeah, I'll put 20 bucks on our moneyline.
  20. We have real squids. Which we throw on opponents ice from time to time, usually after humiliating them which is a rarity these days, granted (not counting home ice). For me throwing them or observing the spectacle works miracles compared to something like that picture above. Now if she was almost naked with some squid-arm thingies hanging from her upper back, I'd buy that. Never said I wasn't cheap. Or gender neutral. I Promise to be that once my testosterone levels drop to pre-teen levels though if it helps.

25 bux on the 'other team'. And no bitchin' best outcome for us long term.
  22. I would like to see their organizational chart of this 'process'. I am not much for vague bulls***. And I doubt they have one, making the concept null and void to me. And I have studied organizational theory, roughly a year of it. Right now we have one process. Qualify as well as you can for the top pick in the coming draft. Any other so called process should be sent to the 'Swedish mafia department for scrutiny and rejection of proposals'.

25 bux on total score lower than 6. Think it's gonna a board game. By design boring, hope I am wrong.

    Rumors Thread

Yup. He is the bomb. But one man can't save us, need legit multi pickups through drafting or less likely, through trades. Drop what you can and get younglings is my suggestion.

Has Blashill finally lost the team?

How can Blashill really lose the team though? The team is a mix of different salaries, ages, cultures, ethnicities and perspectives on life. For most of the kids it's about getting ahead, more playtime, more bright light, praise. For the veterans it's about steadying the ship, no turnovers, nice and tight, systematic play. Yes there are exceptions, I am just pointing out general trends. Add to that all the quirks mentioned above. In the end all of the players are governed by one simple invention - money. They play for it, they do interviews for it, they listen to the coach for it. Right or wrong. As long as that is in effect, Blashill is in effect. With that said, the core veterans, namely Zetterberg and Kronwall have probably already discussed when and how to retire. So sure, you might feel a downish mood in the locker room. But above capital laws hold. Until money is void.
