That has been my point for the last few years. We have not had a high draft pick for the last 20 some years; Larkin was #15, an exception this year and even so, this year there were many excellent picks that are better than Larkin starting with McDavid, Panarin, Domi, Eichel. In the past we were lucky to get excellent players in the 100 picks and down however now the other teams are also eyeing the Swedes and Russians so the likes of Dats, Z, Lidstrom and so many more are not there any longer. GR is loaded with with average players that have heart but are not going to save the Wings in the near future. We must hit the bottom before we become elites once more. Although I think we are lucky to have him,I honestly believe Panarin and McDavid are ahead of him. He is very fast but he misses the net too often, doesn't outplay the goalie but prefers to shoot as soon he crosses the red line. Believe me, I do like him but he needs more seasoning and time. If you think 14 goals is a lot then yes. However, with time Larkin will learn to score rather than miss the net most of the time. I do think Larkin will be our captain as Yzerman did become and I have great hope that he and our younger players will win us the cup and more than once. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Howard should have stopped that puck before it got to Toffoli. For one he was to slow following the puck, two.. He should have seen Toffoli on his left side. That said, he did make many super stops... in fact, he kept the Wings in the game. If he keeps playing this way, we could win this game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We used to have 3 or 4 players in the top 25 point scorers now our first on if our captain Z ranked 59 an the next one is Larkin, 69 and leading us in goals with 14. That is why we are not that good a team. We play too defensively. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
